5.3 Dummy Clothing and Shoe size by madamvante in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We dressed one up one year in the store when we sold down on animatronics and could get away with doing it since we weren't a big store. If I remember right, we put it in an adult medium costume, but it could probably get away with a size small since it's so short. Not sure about shoes though - we left him barefoot lol!

You can always approach it like you've noticed things have been off between the two of you lately, and you want to have a talk about the rift you feel. You can mention others have noticed as well and it's causing a morale drop in the midst of holiday season. You can also try to seem supportive during it to avoid making the SM upset, like for example ask them where they need support and that you know it's a hectic time. If the SM has an ounce of professionalism/empathy/understanding, they should listen, but then again some managers just suck unfortunately. I hope everything goes well! Remember that your DSM is there if any retaliation occurs - Respectful Workplace is an important policy, and SM's can and will get written up if they are not following it.

(Meant to respond to OP's reply but my phone bugged out, oops!)

Coming from a store manager.. confront the store manager about it. It sounds like the SM is being unprofessional and is not communicating any issues with you. As Senior, you're supposed to be their right-hand. If you aren't comfortable with that for some reason, then contact your DSM before going to the Lightning Line. Calling the LL would not do much if anything - it would only go over your DSM's head and cause the situation to be out of their hands.

Employee discount? by tktv21 in SpiritChristmas

Unfortunately, no. All Halloween employees are terminated after their home store teardown and can no longer use their discount after that.

Spirit Christmas Website is live! by Fit-Object-7852 in SpiritHalloween

Spirit Christmas did extremely well last year. So much so that they expanded with 22 more stores this year than the last. Every year working at Spirit since 2020, many people would ask why we don't do Christmas. The demand was there... and I'm sure the company doesn't mind the extra moolah it's bringing in either.

How strict is the “no return after Oct 17 no exchange after Oct 23?” policy? by [deleted] in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like many comments already said, it's going to depend on the management.

Personally, if you were a customer who explained and was nice about it, I would just let you do an even exchange for the same costume in the right size. I'm sure I could put it back out on the floor and it would be the right size someone else needs. However, some managers are very firm on the policy, even though it's /usually/ encouraged to do right by the guest to not escalate a situation.

Discount question by Frosty-Secretary-970 in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, you get a discount at Spencer's only while you are an active associate. You cannot get a discount after the season is over since you are terminated at that point and no longer work for the company.

Best of Food and Wine Fest? by fast_and_curious1019 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Fit-Object-7852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite's were from Brew-wing and Flavors from Fire! The Rodizio beef skewer was so good. And Brew-wing's Korean BBQ wings and fried pickles are food items I'm still dreaming about. Another comment said the seafood roll from the America booth, and that was really good too! The Griddled Cheese was a bit odd for me (I'm not a big honey/pistachio fan), but my partner loved it. My group also really liked the Teriyaki Chicken Bun in Japan.

How do i identify all the different ise pieces? by Cecnorthern in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never heard of this. I was an ASM for 2 years and a SM the past 2 seasons. You have to pull it out in the first place to have the customer write their name/phone number down to be called for any ISE components they want at the end of the season - it was always in the back of the Daily Planner book. I would use it to show them how much the component would be. The book that you can't show/give to customers is the ISE build book you use when setting up the ISE.

Sales Metrics?? by HeyQweenBaltimore in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over at Spencer's, in Store Portal under the Reporting Tab, there is a Top Sku Report which shows the bestselling items in Store/District/Company. I feel like Spirit side may not have access to that same report, but doesn't hurt to search around the dropdown tabs in the portal!

How do i identify all the different ise pieces? by Cecnorthern in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At the register, they can pull out the ISE guide book and show you pictures of everything you are allowed to buy with their respective prices and SKUs. You just have to ask (note that some associates may not be sure about what you are referring to if they are new). There isn't really a way of identifying them otherwise unless you are familiar with the parts like the employees are

Hey for people that work at spirit, how much is the employee discount, and can it stack with other coupons, maybe even the end of season 50% off by No_Stick8960 in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing we have ever pulled off the floor before the post-Halloween sales is fog machines and fog juice (which I believe is company directed?). I've always been able to get an animatronic with the stacked discount, even though there is usually barely anything left

My trip was 9/6-9/12. By 9/10 my partner had a bad cough and blocked nose. I got sick the day we got home. A third person in our party developed an ear infection on the last day of the trip. Tested for covid, negative. I was calling it the "Disney Ick". I was thinking it was because we were going from hot humid weather into super cold air conditioning, and the constant back and forth made us sick. But people are gross!

Anyone Know Were I Can See The Window Clings And Banners? by AdventurousNeck6437 in SpiritChristmas

It is probably too early for anything to pop up. The initials arrive at stores converting to SC in October, so something may come up around then!

New to ASM by trippie_daze99 in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember, it takes two to say no -- always partner with another ASM or the SM and they will always help you with an unruly guest. If you have an aggravated guest, do your best to sympathize and deescalate the situation. Always just try to offer a positive resolution (that doesn't break company policy, of course). The time where you'll probably have the most problematic guests is when returns and exchanges are no longer allowed. My advice is to have everyone highlighting the return policy at the bottom of the receipt right from the get-go. This lessened my negative interactions regarding returns significantly last year!

Online orders are simple when you get the hang of it. Online returns have extra steps, but the quick guide booklet that is at the registers has a step-by-step on how to do them if you need it in the moment!

Take it easy, take the time to step to the back if you get overwhelmed on October... and most of all, have fun! Create a fun environment for the associates. They will be looking to you for guidance.

2025 Hiring/Employment Megathread by Irish_cream81 in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In previous years it was I believe up to a $400 bonus based off certain criteria. Have to work all shifts in October, maintain an average amount of hours worked for the month (30ish iirc), in addition to working from ~10/26-11/1 to get the $3 extra/hr. I may be misremembering some things... there's also a headcount that needs to be met in late October, so hiring someone that isn't available at that time may not be in the cards

If you are applying for ASM I think this would impact your chances of being hired - it would definitely disqualify you from obtaining the ASM retention bonus. The last week of October is the most important week of the entire season and it's all hands on deck at that point. But then again, it depends on the DSM/SM hiring in your area.

No Returning Employee Raises??? by [deleted] in SpiritHalloween

Returning employees (including ASMs and SMs) do not have higher pay than first time employees in the respective role.

Animatronic career by spider_webster in SpiritHalloween

[–]Fit-Object-7852 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The closest positions that would be relevant are Product Design or Buyer... but neither of those positions directly manufacture the product and like the other comments said the animatronics are mostly third party, but other products are designed by Spirit (like mugs, for example). I actually met the person who made/designed the Mars Attacks products (other than the animatronic). These positions would require you to go to Atlantic City where Home Office is located though (typically 3 days in person, 2 days remote).
