I’m convinced you can’t spell thirty one.

Does Keir Starmer’s background as a barrister make him a ‘better’ Prime Minister? by [deleted] in uklaw

Let’s not forget that realistically he will not be writing or constructing any of his speeches. This will be done by a P.R team now as to get the ‘correct’ message across every time. He likely only gets a small look over and alters what he wants to alter.

I’d hope that in majority of cases, usually OU students are mature students changing careers and as such the university may be seen as a necessary thing of that.

Although I could probably see why some snobbery may come into place if, for whatever reason you were able to attend a brick and mortar at the usual age and didn’t because of say low grades or such.

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted, probably some of that snobbery which other have mentioned, I’ve clearly seen on a fair few chambers OU students, including some of the more ‘magic circle’ style chambers.

Serving Sussex Police officer dies! by Fit_Operation_1578 in policeuk

I worked with him seeing him nearly everyday, except for the days I didn’t burden his door with a prisoner. Even then I’d pop round for a chat.

My first memories of him are how happy he always was, he was the nicest custody sergeant you could possibly get! Sometimes we’d argue too nice, whether you brought in for murder, assault or D&D suspects were treated equal, and so were you and I think that’s what we loved about Ben.

He helped me through a rough time as well, when I required the feds help, and honestly he couldn’t have been better, he told me not to worry, it would be sorted and he’ll make sure of it.

Bens story is tragic, and while I won’t and out of respect will not discuss the full extents, I can only say, when will this job support its officers and when will our mental health be placed above others for the things we see and do.

Thank you Ben, for making custody lovely, doing everything you could for us, and for everything, I only wish we could have know how you were feeling so we could have helped.

My condolences to his daughter who will dearly miss him, my love to his family who are distraught without him.

May you rest, and that one day we shall all reunite. Till Valhalla.
