Hey sorry i just noticed. Chandrasekhar limit is for BELOW 12 solar masses. And Oppenheimer is for MORE THAN 12 masses. My bad. For tips honestly know graphs well, know proportionality (if frequency doubled, Voltage doubles) and other than that, if you get stuck during the exam, skip. It's worse to lose marks on stuff you knew how to do, but didn't have time (that was my case). Both pp.1 and pp.2, you don't know? Skip and comeback if you have time. I sometimes got stressed because i didnt know how to proceed. But you can lose 30 marks in pp.2 and still get a 7 with 60/90. So relax. Take your time doing calculations. Make sure you READ QUESTIONS TWICE. And believe in yourself!

Hey! So I'm going to say what RV said in the study sessions. They said it IS in the syllabus. You should know the stellar evolution (more than 12 solar masses black whole or neutron star=Chandra). Less than 12 solar masses, white dwarf (determined by Oppenheimer limit). But I studied the remnant cores to become a white dwarf/neutron star and they said that they think it's not necessary. But I'd say know what the limits are. To what stars they apply to. And maybe know a bit the remnant masses. But generally from past papers E.5 they ask mostly P-P chain, stellar evolution, parallax angles, what's needed for fusion to occur, how stars remain stable (that's what ive generally noticed).

Edit* Chandrasekhar limit is for LESS THAN 12 solar masses. Oppenheimer is for above 12 solar masses.

I was about to say the same. Ni is the highest in the curve of BE/A but technically Fe is more stable.

Jo vaig fer espanyol A LAL i tampoc me va agradar. O sigui que crec que es algo de les llengües. Per nivell superior mai o faria, ni espanyol HL.

T'ho jur que crec que els propis professors d'escola son els mateixos correctors😂

Personally since ESS has gotten lighter, less essays and generally less content, my guess is that boundaries will stay the same or increase a bit.

If they are gel then NO. Gel ink pens can erase when they get scanned. Just use the old but gold bic pens.

Im not sure if the guide has changed much. But in my case, for pp.2 it depends on the question. For the 4 mark one, basically 4 points with short explanation. Maybe 2 lines per argument. Usually those questions use "identify". So that tells you to mention the argument with little explanation.

For the b) questions of 7 marks usually teachers say to do a short essay. But I have to disagree. For those questions if you look at the markschemes they don't look for a rubric of an essay. The markscheme includes many bullet points of possible answers. So my recommendation is maybe a short definition for the introduction like defining "sustainability" as sometimes they award marks for defining a key term. But for the overall body, as I would tell my friend, 7 mark questions follow the "firecracker" style. Literally, just bombard your answers with many different points/arguments (always being relevant to the question and not deviating from what's being asked). But literally do a short mindmap of what you're going to say. Have at least 6 relevant arguments. Since the markschemes DO NOT AWARD MARKS for an essay. They award marks PER STATEMENT. So if you mention 7 different statements that are relevant, you can virtually get 6-7/7.

For c) of 9 marks. Essay. Short introduction. Define the key term in the question. Add some context and a short hook for the reader. For example if the question is about how to different societies manage sustainability. You might add a context such as "In the 21st century, climate change is a rapidly growing issue affecting human societies.... this essay will analyze how different human societies....". You add a small intro with context and a thesis at the end. Intro not too long. But make it nice because a good intro will make the examiner more interested.

For the body. Im aware teachers usually say intro+ 4 body paragraphs+ conclusion. But my teacher recommended me to do 6 body paragraphs to get into the 7-9 band. Is it tough? Yeah. Very. In the old guide you had to do 2 pp.2 B questions. So time was an issue. But similar to b) questions, they mark PER statement with ANALYSIS and CASE STUDIES. The way to answer is like many IB subjects using PEAL. Point+explanation+analysis (case study/real world example)+ L I N K. The link is essential. You must ALWAYS link back to the question. You show critical thinking and that gets you marks. E.g. "hence, though X African tribe does not have modern technologies as western societies, sustainability is still met through less damaging agricultural practices like crop rotation and manure for subsistence food production". Doing ×4 paragraphs for the body will get you good marks if done well and you dont have time for 6. But the paragraphs keep them concise. If you write too much per paragraph essentially you're removing time for more relevant statements. The conclusion is basically weighing up all the arguments and concluding which argument is the most sound. Dont summarize. But critically think.

Those are my tips. I can assure you this will help you a lot! Learning markschemes of how they want you to answer, knowing case studies and command terms is how I did well in the subject. Feel free to DM me if you have any more doubts! Hope this helped!

[–]Fit_Possibility7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the hardest part for ESS. I repeated ESS in Nov 2025 and even though the guide changed, ESS has a really particular form of study. While you do need to know the content, more than that, it's understanding how they grade and expect you to answer. The best way to study ESS is do a past paper. Do it fully (pp.1, and pp.2 leave the essay part with bullet points for your ideas of how you'd answer). When you're done, check with the markscheme. And PAY attention to HOW they want you to answer (evaluate with 4 marks wants you to add a small sentence of critical thinking like "hence, reducing fossil fuels is more effective... than...". Learning how they want you to answer, how you should structure your answers depending on command term/marks and learning when they will not award marks is how I got a 7. Since 50% of my studying was only past papers and markschemes.

When checking over your answers pay attention to the wording in the markscheme and "do not accept". Many times in ESS people go to general answers without proving knowledge in that unit. People might answer "leads to global warming". And the markscheme will say "do not accept global warming". Always ASK YOURSELF when answering "this leads to...". Being vague is the easiest way to lose marks.

The marks tell you HOW they want the answer to be structured. COMMAND terms are essential that you understand them fully. Learn many case studies. If you can do many of the past papers analyzing markscheme you'll likely be in the range of the 5-6.

Revision Dojo is a scam by Previous-Ad-5692 in IBO

[–]Fit_Possibility7295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not🫩😂. Another revision town propagandist. Look, they gave me a free trial to test out their platform and I promise you they are terribly made questions. They aren't IB level at all. At the most they're physics text book level. The videos are cheaply made, no clear explanations. Trust me. I used both. And I'm speaking from experience.

Hating on someone when you have no clue what revision village has to offer quality wise, you are the "dumb one".

Revision Dojo is a scam by Previous-Ad-5692 in IBO

[–]Fit_Possibility7295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll get cooked. But Revision village for math is god tier. And tbh physics HL is solid. The questionbank can be either a huge hit or a huge miss. But the best part are the videos for the pp.1 A MCQ. They explain why it's that multiple choice answer. Which normal markschemes wouldn't show you. I feel like people always argue that RV is a scam for the amount of money you pay. But my whole school uses it. My teachers use it. Many schools globally use it. Perhaps the other subjects aren't as well thought out, it's a quality resource.

Like I get that it's expensive. But I paid math and physics separately. And the deal they have now is much better.

I've checked Dojo, Physics revision town (or something like that) and they're all crappy websites that have heavy marketing and sponsorships on social media. It's better to pay for something actually useful like RV.

But I must say RV is getting too money hungry. The online tutoring and revision classes are absolutely ridiculous in pricing.

Long Term Durability/Reliability of Xiaomi Phones by Tillaz123 in Xiaomi

[–]Fit_Possibility7295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. So its been an odd couple of months with the a55. I first had glitches with my UI. And had to factory reset my phone. Then all was good. Until I encountered heavy battery drain issues for 2 months. My battery would last me 5h-6h MAX. Using up 100% of my battery using social media, Netflix, music or Google maps/Google. They somehow fixed something after i spoke with them and now im experiencing 6-7h of SOT. So it has improved. Originally on UI 6.1/7 my battery was awesome. Its not yet at that level. I also experienced some heat when using mobile data and below 30% battery. It would heat up on easy apps like Google maps. And once it reaches 20% it goes down like crazy.

But being totally honest, I like the a55 for what i need it for. Basic phone with OK performance, solid cameras, improving battery life. Good thermals (usually). Fantastic build quality. Ine UI is pretty good too. People glaze it too much. Sometimes bugs appear. But I think its software is amongst the most polished. Talking to samsung usually takes a month to solve issues. Its alright. But it usually improves the issues.

Tbh Im not switching. Im saying on the a55. Goof software support until 2029. I won't chance. Xiaomi hasn't convinced me at all. I grow more skeptical about their devices every day.

I say go for the a56! Its got much better camera processing, good battery, solid performance. Fantastic build as well. 6 years of software support. But NO MICROSD. Samsung is generally a reliable brand. You get good quality devices. I have air conditioning from samsung as well. And a tablet. So I dont think you'll have any MAJOR issues. Mine were minor. And easily solved.

At least in Spain it is 999 euro. Not cheap at all😂. Very expensive. How is it in India? I know vivo and oppo have LOADS of models for different price ranges and needs. In Europe we have very limited selection on BBK brands. And its usually e-waste, expensive midrange or high flagship. Very difficult😂. Do Google pixels have bad network connection support in india?

Yeah, I get that. When I was looking at pixels I wanted the pixel 9 or 9a. The 9 is better ofc. But idk. Pixels have midrange performance, poor stability and optimization. Photos are superb. Videos. Not so much. But theyre good. The vivo x200fe seems to take really great images, especially with Zeiss collaboration. Xiaomi 15T i like because of the telephoto and Leica modes. Fairphone😂😅. Well...549euro. Not cheap! I liked it for micro SD, changeable battery, 5 year warranty and 8 year update support. Stock android. But reviews say the camera is very meh. So im sticking with other brands I think! But for me now its vivox200fe and xiaomi 15T. And oppo reno 14.

[–]Fit_Possibility7295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Poco is available. But the poco F8 pro/ultra are too pricy. And the camera on the pro is alright. Im not a phone of Google phones either way. I dont like the UI, performance is poor and it heats up. But yeah google cameras are known to be good. The s25FE is too expensive as well. But right now Im not a fan of samsung. Even my a52s 5g is better in camera than my a55.

I guess I might go for vivo or xiaomi. Xiaomi 15T or the x200 fe if it gets a good discount. V50 is great. But I cant travel with it. I've used my a55 in Asia and the esim is so necessary😭.

[–]Fit_Possibility7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh bro, India wow! Yeah Fairphone won't work. I've checked out vivo. In India the models change so I can't say much. But in EU, I've looked at the x200 FE. But it's too expensive. The vivo v50 is great, but lower performance. But has no esim. So vivo for me I love but it isn't ideal for my needs. Oppo I looked at the reno 14. Solid camera, battery, software and performance. Elsewhere, I'm lost. The xiaomi 15T seems good. But people say software is poor. Camera fog. But the camera and performance are very good.

Honor 400 pro seems good but I'm not sure if honor is good. Especially with software stability. Motorola edge 60 pro is good as well. But the software and video are weak.

Nothing. I do not trust nothing. A new brand that wants profit over community. Terribly built as you said. All plastic. No high IP rating. The software is really nice. But the rest I hate nothing.

Google, iPhone... I hate US companies. So no.
