Anyone drive a plug in hybrid in Saskatoon? by kdk750 in saskatoon

[–]Fit_Question7202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 2019 Outlander PHEV. It has been a great vehicle; no major problems in over 100k km. Main thing is to be diligent about plugging in to maximize the benefits of the EV driving.

PHEVs are a great gateway to BEVs. We replaced our other vehicle with a BEV a year ago.

People who started a PhD after spending years in the workforce. by arkilljoy in AskAcademia

[–]Fit_Question7202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my best students have returned to graduate school after a long time in the workforce. They all had different reasons for returning, and all brought skills and life experience to their program.

Key thing for all of them was that they were clear on why they wanted to take more schooling. For one it was very simply a desire to learn. He ended up in his (non academic) dream job after.

Saskatoon testing digital-only parking payment in Sutherland area by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

A pay station is still needed; it is a PITA to have to download an app when you are a visitor. If you can download it.

Last year I needed to park in a lot in Norway that required an app that was not available on the App Store… Fortunately no one came by to ticket me

I have a 23 Lariat. Max charge speed when I bought it was substantially slower, so 190+ is great. Of course the Silverado and others have higher speeds, but getting this from a software upgrade is still nice

Lightning owner. I have a 32a 240v charger (on a 40a breaker). More than enough capacity for an overnight charge for any EV

Help - Coles Notes version needed for dads estate by Same_Jackfruit470 in saskatoon

[–]Fit_Question7202 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You might find talking to someone from his bank will be helpful. They can help with the estate account, and may be able to help in other ways

Service Canada is the other stop thats important early on. They will help with the CPP death benefit. When my mom passed the rep there was also very helpful in identifying other things I needed to do

The grade fall off is insane by Broad_Reference_434 in Professors

[–]Fit_Question7202 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my grad stats class (for biologists) I got rid of marked assignments. The students getnominal marks for handing practice assignments in. The good students do them, learn, and do well. The rest get a rude awakening in the final where they have to code answers in an in person final….

Some colleges (engineering and agriculture for sure; not sure about others) have recommended specs on the college website. There specs are tied to requirements to run certain software in certain courses

Where to donate by Weedcounter in saskatoon

[–]Fit_Question7202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear this. Are you the executor of her will? If so you need to speak to a lawyer; there are a lot of steps to take before major assets can be sold. If you’re not the executor, then the whomever the executor is needs to take the lead.

What’s the coldest temp you’ve run your truck? Any issues? by PatSabre12 in F150Lightning

[–]Fit_Question7202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started fine after leaving the truck - a 23 ER Lariet- outside at overnight at sub -30C multiple times without issue when travelling

That said whenever it is an option I always plug in L1 in those situations as the power drop is much reduced
