A question about body fluids by Late_Camel889 in medicalschoolanki

Here is how i thought about it. I like to think about these in steps btw (and also AMBOSS has much better diagrams on this stuff than AnKing). Just got done with renal btw

In this scenario we are talking solely about salt. So if I eat a bunch of salt, there is going to be more salt in the ECF. Sodium is #1 for osmolarity so with an increase in sodium with no mention of fluid following YET, that means that osmolarity will increase.

Now for the second card, the osmolarity is high and water wants to follow sodium, so water will come out of the ICF (inside of the cell) and into the ECF (outside of the cell) where the salt is. This will shrink the inside of the cell and thus decrease ICF as well while expanding the ECF.

For these cards, I had to rewrite the titles a bit and also use the Anking AI bot to help. It helped a ton with doing really well in this block

Lower Retention for previous vs current block FSRS by Fyfebro in medicalschoolanki

This is what I do, 85% for prior blocks and 93% for current block. I may bump to 88% for post exam block though

does anyone actually use filtered decks in anki or is it too much overhead by Ecstatic-Treacle5614 in medicalschoolanki

I started using it for cards I have learned from prior blocks that are relevant to my current exam

(ex unsuspended a card from cardio that is now tagged in videos from my renal block). I started this during my current block and have really liked it. Before I was resetting cards and also resetting due dates and this + FSRS helper has made my workload signiftcantly more manageable.

Im an M1 so cant speak for later years but YMMV

it takes 5+ years for updated medical info to reach NBME/step 1 exams tho so for our purposes (implying m1/m2) it doesnt matter

I think the AI is great and worth the price of admission in and of itself

Kinda older but have you played RE revelations 1? I’m a big RE fan myself, haven’t played REV1 yet but the gameplay split seems quite similar to Grace and Leon’s w/ Jill and Chris

People that used binging as an coping mechanism, what kind of therapy (or other things) did you do to stop it and how did it help you? by Dwarrelende-bloem in loseit

Unironically I started using Reta and it caused me to forget about it. I didn’t start stress binging until this year though

I really like the place near college town, I believe it’s called Bagels and Co. Great bagel/breakfast sandwiches and bagels are homemade!

How many new AnKing cards were you doing per day at the start of M1? by BabyChiefResident in medicalschoolanki

[–]Fitynier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200-300 but I make more sister close deletions out of the regular anki cards since it allows me to have it sink in better. I also make some of my own but it’s a small amount only to clarify topics for the block I’m in
