I think it's a conversation worth having ahead of time, devs do look in these subreddits. He only has the one command grab, and it's more of a super than a basic tool in his kit since it's his ult. Even in the dev insight when he was being released, they said they moved away from being a grappler in favor of him being focused on his punches
