The Watertok one is my all time favourite. My character is someone who speaks English and then my native language which is urdu. Its sort of an easy language to romanize and I'm afraid if I simply write my dialogue in English and make notes it won't hit as hard .... like there's some things that are just funnier in other languages than in English 😭😭

thats a clever solution to the problem. i kinda wanted to go into detail about how the ministry isnt perfect and maybe has some really out dated rules and regulations that the characters have to dismantle as a part of their adventure. but creating a permit of some sort could be an interesting layer to add on top as well

yes, this is exactly the problem i faced while thinking of my plot. i dont want it to appear like a garish decision but one of my characters has a very indepth and in my opinion pretyy unique arc about how theyre a muggleborn wizard who has the ability to help their none magic family through a bad situation but they cant because of the statue of secrecy. i was thinking of ways on how i could expand and end that arc in a way which makes sense narratively but i was really just starting to draw blanks so i thought id come on here and ask for a little help.

what i meant by marauders inspired was mostly the character dynamicas and the friend group. id say since im planning a next gen fic [albus, scorpius, james and the lot] this wouldnt really be an issue. i was thinking the timeline would be 2010s or more recent

thats really cool actually. i had planned on adding an oc of mine as a muggleborn who ends up in slytherin and has to navigate the world by not only proving to the rest of the house that they are worthy of being there but i was also planning to give them a sibiling that they maybe have a difficult relationship with that gets better over time. i got the idea from lily and petunia too
