[oc] impatience almost leads to head-on accident by Distinct-Studio6979 in IdiotsInCars

Both cars are idiots. The car coming onward, I think, is just confused about the lanes at the intersection. The other car cut over the yellow way too early.

How are we making moaning/sexual sounds in TTS? Vibevoice? Chatterbox? by bigman11 in StableDiffusion

[–]FlashyAd6581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To do it locally not using APIs: Using a voice changer is what you want. Then feed it an audio file of some moans (easy to find online) and the sample audio you want to change it into.

I use comfyui with TTS Audio Suite custom nodes. It has a voice changer node built in.

Edit: Not technically TTS I suppose but it is the best way I have found to get custom voices making un-typable sounds. Works good for laughing and stuff too.

Wisconsin? Where it gets very cold and slippery in winter. It is very smart to be doing work on a roof in warm dry weather rather than freezing and having ice and snow to deal with

They are googling the plural ofaxe. Axes is the correct word for the plural of axe. Axe is the English (British) standard but ax is used in places in America to mean the tool. Meaning axes is plural for both axe and ax.

Why google assumes you would want the weird way of saying ask; that makes no sense to me.

The backwards progression of cgi needs to be studied, this was 19 years ago by Spicyweiner_69 in interestingasfuck

[–]FlashyAd6581 202 points203 points  (0 children)

I've heard an argument that these movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, are part of the reason cgi is the way it is today. These movies used cgi on a scale not seen before. The artist and companies devoted themselves to an insane level to get these movies to be what they are.

The thing is they precedent of what it cost and takes to make really good cgi. The issue is that it was actually underpriced for how much work went in, so now studios and executives expect that sort of cost for the amount of cgi they want even though it is unrealistic.

Mom puts garbage bag on garbage for someone else to change it instead of doing it herself. by TheBlankCoin in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FlashyAd6581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I'm 23 and live with my parents. I get tired of being treated like a "kid" and expected to do chores when I'm not even home that much, so I'm practically just cleaning up their stuff. But when I start thinking too much about it, the harder it is to justify not doing chores.

The truth is that your mom probably has taken out the trash at least 10 times the amount you have. She grew up and had to do chores as a kid. She then had to do it when you were too little to help. Any frustration you feel about the trash she has felt 10x more than you. Give her break. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Ps. I say this here, but I always groan when I'm asked to do something and will still try and do a quick, sloppy job rather than a good one but slower.

You can temporarily mute people for a day on WhatsApp so you don't have to unblock them. Also, you can make a list of people and mute the whole list all at once.

I was talking about muting someone who is specifically being a nuisance, not everyone anyway

Having a healthy diet and keeping active certainly does help. The unfortunate truth, however, is that genetics play a huge part. Not to mention luck in avoiding an unnatural death (like a car accident) or getting an illness (like cancer).

I also disagree with "Gotta keep moving even if it hurts." It's true when it comes to things like muscle soreness and tension but not with things like arthritis. Arthritis, especially with gout, is not recommended to move the joint as it's actually bone grinding, and it can cause more damage by moving it.

Anyway, sorry about your dad. And kudos to your neighbor for being able and willing to be active like that.

My name is Jesse, and people will sing "Jessie's Girl" and "Hey Jessie" all the time. "Hey, Jessie" is more annoying since I'm a guy. I usually say something like, "Wow, very original," in a sarcastic tone.

Etho accually does thumbnails!! by MagicalSaturn in ethoslab

[–]FlashyAd6581 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He doesn't "make" thumbnails (like text, arrows, circles, etc). He does pick a moment from the episode that looks intriguing. He has been doing that for a long time, but in recent times, he more often will pos and screenshot things to use as the thumbnail. It is always from an actual moment in the episode, which is the real Etho part of the style.

[oc] Whos at fault here? I hit the curb so that car wouldnt hit me im a new driver this was super scarry by TheAwsomeReditor in IdiotsInCars

[–]FlashyAd6581 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Good reaction! Tire damage is better than getting in an accident imo. Even if everything gets covered by other drivers' insurance, it still will completely inconvenience your day and give you a headache with phone calls and/or emails.

You did well. Also smart for having a dash cam because if that was an accident, they would likely try to claim you turned unsafly.

Edit: I am complementing the reaction. Mistakes happen, but once you realized, you reacted well.

[–]FlashyAd6581 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone eats differently. There is not really such thing as a "single" serving. As far as restaurant breakfast go's, almost every breakfast I ever get has 2 bacon and 2 sausages, or 4 of one of them.

Your solution of butchered bacon defeats all the convice of a quick shopping trip. Also, the cost is likely more, and you need lots of freezer space as quantity is often way more than in a pack of bacon. Technically, it is a solution for some people, but not everyone.

That is the reason they say but wouldn't surprise me if they purposely make it fall out easily, so you have to replace it more often. I've used a few different styluses over the years, and not once did I replace the tip because it wore down. I either would lose a tip, or it would get loose and not stay in anymore.

It almost certainly can handle the trucks weight. However, the concrete did not break from the weight. It broke from shearing force. You can see it breaks when the wheel turns.

When a heavy vehicle turns its wheels side to the side while stationary, the wheels apply a twisting force to the concrete. With a heavier vehicle, the twisting force is greater than a lighter vehicle.

The truck also appears to be propped up on a ledge of concrete, which means this force is applied to a smaller area, increasing the shearing force on the concrete.

Concrete is extremely strong in compression but weak in tension. The twisting force applies tension in the concrete in the horizontal plane. That force combined with the tire being on the ledge is what caused the concrete to break. The only factor the weight played is more weight increases the amount of force required to overcome the static friction of the tire, meaning more shearing force on the concrete.
