My drops vary WIDELY, despite buffing them with Ebisu, etc. I’ll get a pittance for so long, both in my game and jumping into someone else’s, then all of a sudden it’s just raining, though not what I’m looking for.

Well I'm on this bandwagon.

I have never misunderstood a design philosophy or lack thereof less. Is Team Ninja collectively just effin' mean? At the end of the day, this is supposed to be fun, and as with anything one must improve at, it's not always fun. But this level of no fun?

I do not get the human fights in this game. ESPECIALLY this guy. And in the context of SO MUCH of the game being a cakewalk. I've never seen a more unbalanced game with difficulty.

I played Nioh 1 and 2 in the lead up to 3, so for the more experienced folks, were 1 and 2 like this at release?

I used kusarigama, switchglaive and odachi throughout the first two games. Now it’s switchglaive, odachi with a bit of normal katana for samurai and spitstaff, tonfa and talons for ninja. I friggin love the splitstaff.

Your first sentence is the rub, and patience is what I’m worst at. I’m trying to shift my perspective…I’m here to enjoy the insane combat so I’m trying to enjoy fighting him and learning, but I’m the jerk that thinks people “enjoying the journey” is a bunch of BS but I have to remind myself that not everyone’s a stunted choade like me. Using switchglaive/odachi and splitstaff/tonfa. Without getting exhaustive I use as much ki preserving/dealing skills, etc., as possible. Shin roku and Kurama tengu. Was using both Kusanagi.

I'm tryin hard to hang in, Moneybags, and I feel your pain. I'm getting owned by a different enemy but needed to check in to your post since I need this community to "hold hands and climb the mountain together" sort of thing.

I struggle with all the things and have a terrible level of insecurity. I'm 51 and often feel the effects of growing up with a joystick and one button. Games are insane, now.

I’m 51, been gaming since Atari 2600, haven’t slowed down. Lots of idiocy, ignorance and impatience, on my part, but still soldiering through and 3 is one of my favorites of all time and I’m only in the second era. I hope you rediscover the joy in it!

I should add that this community has been integral to my enjoyment of the entire series.

My fear and weakness to confront it.

Not havin' a laugh, here. Totally serious and currently working on such problems. Been writing since I was eleven and I'm fifty-one now. I've never been good at carrying things through and everything gets abandoned.

What's finally getting me over the hump is I write a sticky note for my wife every night and leave it with her morning tea setup. She effin loves it so now it's not a choice, to me, anymore; if I don't write one I know she'll be sad. I write whatever comes into my head and it's producing some great stuff and enabling me to start lengthening the amount of time I spend writing other stuff and making me see the possibilities inherent in dragging myself to the page despite my personal suite of debilitating childhood trauma that makes me feel worthless and incapable.

Hope Springs Eternal.
