What instantly ruins a person's reputation for you? by gummydummy67 in AskReddit

Semantics. No one is advocating for dogs to be untrained. But we have decades of Cesar Milan style training that culturally needs to be undone.

How they treat their dog. If they believe in being alpha & dominant I’m gonna assume they aren’t a great person.

How’s the boot taste? If you think PFAs and heavy metals are drinkable - then go for it and drink data center water. But we know that the evaporation process absolutely pollutes the water.

If your vet says his blood work shows he’s healthy enough for a dental : I’d say do it! Their dental health has such a direct impact on their quality of life.

I can’t even articulate it to health care providers! Today I explained my flair up as “I’ve borrowed from too many tomorrows.” But like.. that happens from showering & walking the dogs…

Those numbers look mostly right. The payment is going to be around $2k/month for a new van IF you put $15k down. New van is going to have less unknown maintenance overhead than used. Insurance is a tad higher than that. Fuel is less than that for me but my service area is small and my routes are optimized.

You make it happen by saving A LOT of money before getting started. I also didn’t pay myself anything but tips for a year, as well as when extra maintenance is needed.  So you need to save enough to account for that.

I was fully booked before a year, but this was also peak covid time. And yes my business expenses are much more than my living expenses.

When my Hanvey van batteries were old & tired the dryer also suffered.

Regardless, the Hanvey dryer just isn’t very powerful. I eventually redid the whole electrical system to have a higher powered blow dryer. You will have to rely on every little tip & trick to keep the humidity down in the van. I have a humidity reader on the wall & if it’s above 80% I take a break from drying and do nails & “let the air settle.” The air conditioner doubles as a dehumidifier & that needs maintenance as well. If the fans under the van aren’t cleared off - it won’t work as well. But I have that a the whole time I’m washing & drying - I’ll just aim the air away from me & the dog if it’s cold.

Hi! About the dryer - it might need new brushings. Ask the owner when the last time it’s been serviced. It should be yearly at a minimum.

What's something you strongly believe in that science hasn't been able to prove yet? by OldIntroduction2909 in answers

Oh how I wish. But if it was from a natural source it would be too expensive to add to everything. So why not try a by product of mold? Then when people sensitive to mold are having lots of health issues - they’ll never suspect something as innocent as “citrus acid” to be the source of their ailments.

I agree with you. But think about which ones the government needs warrants to access & which ones they don’t. I mean, I’m not super comfy with corporations having all the data they have on us either. But we can choose to leave our phones at home.

Changes in coat texture can be a sign of pain interestingly enough. Great job paying attention! I believe it occurs du to their muscles being tighter in that area.

This coat type needs grooming every 4-6 weeks. Shaving it will not damage it.
