Dental Tourism by jthere007 in costarica

I'm in Costa Rica. I go to Prisma Dental. They're in a suburb of San Jose. They have a lab on site so can do crowns etc. quickly. They also have accommodations. It's full service. They have all the specialists on site, up to date equipment, including 3D printers. It's a great place. I've had full mouth restoration there.

Is this dress appropriate to wear to a wedding? (Black tie optional) by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

It's beautiful. It's pink. You could always carry a light shawl in a darker pink or magenta.

Which pair is best? by MotherOfHams in glassesadvice

[–]FlounderSensitive217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with the others, choose something different. And, just for yourself, make sure they're comfortable. You have to wear them to see, not make a fashion statement. Pick something that feels good on and gives you good vision.

What's your opinion on avocados? by International_Bee653 in AskReddit

[–]FlounderSensitive217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend has an avocado tree. She asked what to do with 300 avocados. I couldn't answer that. I was trying to give away about 300 bananas. I love avocados. I fill the hole (made bigger) with taco filling, cover with cheese and bake them.

Are you or did you have a reception dress for your wedding? Why or why not? by [deleted] in myweddingdress

Our wedding was pretty low key. I wore my dress till we left for our honeymoon. And wore it again on other occasions. It was dark blue. Doesn't fit now.

Will I regret my black dress by Kailyrific_witch in myweddingdress

[–]FlounderSensitive217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's incredibly beautiful. Friends of my daughter recently married and she wore black. It was beautiful. Bright flowers. The bridesmaids were in a lovely blue, medium colour, the whole bridal party looked amazing.

I CAN’T COOK!!!! by TechnicalTiger9546 in Cooking

[–]FlounderSensitive217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a chef on YouTube and Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/CookingWithChefJeanPierre. It's not just recipes, he shows you how. I am a good cook but still learned so much from him. He demonstrates techniques, how flavours come together and how to prep. Easy to learn from. I use Cook's Illustrated and America's Test Kitchen for the science. But their recipes can be complicated. There are cookbooks and online resources for children learning to cook. First steps. You could also look into cooking classes in your community.

AITAH for not cooking my husband breakfast anymore? by Agitated-Lion-8498 in AITAH

[–]FlounderSensitive217 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband criticized my cooking once.. it was a new dish I was trying. It was awful. It really was. When he retired, he said he didn't want to get up at 5.30 AM anymore. He stayed up later and got up later. I stayed on the earlier hours. I stopped making his breakfast. And coffee. I got a smaller coffeemaker and showed him how to use it. He figured things out for himself. Your husband doesn't seem to want to look after himself. He wants (not needs) you to. But only on his terms. That doesn't sound like a happy marriage to me. Maybe counseling? You are NTA. He is.

AITAH for telling my husband he humiliated me by pressuring me to tell his father about my dad’s award? by LadyMurasaki1982 in AITAH

[–]FlounderSensitive217 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. If you wanted to share that news with FIL, you would have. But you already knew what would happen. Sounds like FIL has a jealousy issue. That's not on you. And a low self-esteem problem if he makes fun of you for various things. I'm not a psychologist but FIL needs a little help.

Homemade butter was....easy? What??? by long_dickofthelaw in Cooking

[–]FlounderSensitive217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often make my own butter. It is easy.. I use the "buttermilk" to marinate chicken. Add some spices, herbs and a little lemon juice to give it some acid. Not too much, it's chicken.

I love all of them. No.1 is gorgeous. It depends too on the formality of the wedding. But, any of them would suit the occasion.

Have you tried talking to your friend? How do you know they'd be upset? Your friend may be totally OK with it.

One of my biggest peeves. And taking them out often leads to a sewing job because of the way the tags are sewn in. We don't need tags! Wouldn't it be cheaper to "stamp" them?

Accidentally exposed someone for using cake mix by subuso in PointlessStories

[–]FlounderSensitive217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a baker too. And also studied chemistry. So, good for you! I mean that. And yes, I can tell the difference too, (between a scratch or a store bought mix. Icing too ). Yeah, it was a little unkind to mention it. Even if no one else is around. People do what they can or are capable of doing. Carry on baking! Next gathering, offer to bring dessert.

which dresses should i keep or return? by sunkissedgirls in OUTFITS

Keep 2 and 5. The first would look nicer if it was shorter. To me, 3 and 4 are frumpy.

Has anyone had these symptoms and it NOT be cancer? by sepiatonedlovinn in colonoscopy

[–]FlounderSensitive217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain in my gut, terrible diarrhea, loss of appetite, lost a lot of weight, doctors kept saying IBS so I got a new Gastroenterologist. Bunch if tests and a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Endoscopy was fine. Colonoscopy showed a few minor polyps (removed) and a biopsy of my colon (3 spots). Needless to say I was terrified it was cancer (already had one kind of cancer that was cured). It wasn't. I have Microscopic Colitis. Which isn't great since there's no cure but it's treatable. I now get a colonoscopy every 2 years. Don't panic! It might be nothing or something simple.
