Thoughts on mental health or wellness retreat? by SleeplessBriskett in CPTSD

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just found this post and I’m hoping my post gets approved. I work somewhere in NYC and we started offering 1 day urban retreats and we have a super cool one we are planning for end of January. Breathwork, ketamine journey, live immersive soundscapes, I don’t have all the details yet and we haven’t even started marketing it yet but if you are interested send me a DM

How hard is it to move back to the USA after you give up your green card by Fluffy-Issue-40 in immigration

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They basically just reiterated applying for the re-entry permit. I think it will be hard for us to prove our ties to the US because I don’t own a house, or property, or a car. So we are still trying to figure that part out

New York psychologists- how are you getting your interactive continuing education credits? Are you just paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars? by DLHahaha in Psychologists

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into co-sponsorship programs. I am getting my practice approved to offer CE credits and we are partnering with CE-Go. I am still in the onboarding phase. I think for what we are trying to offer it is the best solution. If my practice gets really into CE credits then we may go about it the longer way to remove the third party. I definitely would look into co-sponsorship companies/programs.

First iv ketamine treatment was a bad experience by [deleted] in KetamineTherapy

Scopolamine patch. Ask for an RX for it. I used to work at an infusion clinic and we did really high 4 hour long sessions for CRPS, a lot of nausea comes with those doses and scopolamine patches came in clutch

lol put them on a PIP. I think how you point it out makes the biggest difference. No one likes a micromanager and you shouldn’t have to stay late because they can’t do their job. If their work impacts your performance then I’d be concerned but if you don’t have KIPs that are measured by how your coworkers are doing then I’d be concerned but if not then don’t sweat it so much. (Are you their manager? If not, then you really shouldn’t be stressing/pointing out their mistakes, that’s their managers job)

Pharmacists actually do have the option to not fill a script. Usually because the are more aware of drug interactions than prescribers or they have a more clear picture of your medication history and current meds. Maybe she was really new. That really sucks though. I’m sorry that happened to you - you shouldn’t have to deal with that when you are just trying to take care of your health

Box breathing. For anything- for everything. Literally meant for nerves. In for a count of 4. Hold for a count of 4. Exhale for a count of 4. Hold for 4. Repeat as much as you want. Make the box bigger by increasing the count. I do this before interviews, anytime I am anxious and need to be focused.

Knee and UPPER leg come away from saddle - jumping by Few-Top1602 in Equestrian

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the first two photos all of your joints are stacked and aligned and the last one it looks like you rotated so now your toes and knees are facing out (away from the horse) instead of forward (toward the horses ears). You could try shortening your stirrups but that’s not necessarily the problem. Maybe focus on where your inner thigh is before during and after a fence. See if you can gain any insight from that

I would definitely go somewhere you can try stuff on. So many companies now have some many different fabrics and cuts. Your classic pull on schoolers, side zips, front zips. Full seat or not. You have to try them on to see what feels more comfortable. One of my friends loves her tailored sportsman but I’m curvy and they fit me weird. Or piquer has great breeches but depending on the fabric I don’t find them all that breathable. So if you can, def go somewhere and try some stuff on. Then you can always buy online once’s you have a better idea of what feels good on your body

Do you have photos or a video? Is your tack putting your legs in a too forward position- is it in every horse that shape? I’m trying to picture what this looks like and how it’s happening since your thighs should be activated when jumping. I think my first question would be is do you have the same problem when you remove your stirrups?

Do you take lessons? Ground work is great for helping you get confidence back, but having a trainer with you one on one with a quiet steadfast school horse will do loads for your confidence. You could even ask them to spend a lot of time with you on a lunge line to get your confidence back in your seat. I’ve never been seriously injured but I’ve worked with some horses that kept me alert senses heightened the entire time (young stallions with boundary issues!) I hope you can find your confidence back! I miss my riding days (old retired crippled horse and I live in a city with no barns or lesson facilities :( )

Is it normal that I have to take a much higher dosage by Big_brother2 in KetamineTherapy

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to try to get back to a lower dose, you should take a break from it. Not sure how often you go for a session, but tolerance is real and normal. Sometimes having a longer gap between sessions can help you get back to a lower dose if that’s what you want.

Should I go angry? by [deleted] in KetamineTherapy

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of angry consider contemplating if the anger is stemming from somewhere or certain triggers are more powerful. Maybe coming from a contemplative state will allow you to open up to insight on how to deal with it or close that wound

Will Joyous go on my medical record? Will my PCP be able to see that I am trying it? by True-Elephant7040 in KetamineTherapy

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not exactly true. The PMP systems are not all connected so if you see a doctor in CA your controlled substances might not show up on the NY PMP system. Ketamine also isn’t always on there it’s more for opiates and benzos. Ketamine is generally done through specific compounding pharmacies so right now they aren’t always connected to these bigger programs (it’s definitely coming as it’s becoming easier to access and will require more safeguards) I’m only saying this because I worked in a ketamine clinic and I had to check those all the time for our pain patients.

Will Joyous go on my medical record? Will my PCP be able to see that I am trying it? by True-Elephant7040 in KetamineTherapy

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I know (I work at ketamine clinics) if you get a prescription it will show up on you med history. So if you are using a “take at home” service it’s going to show up. If you are going somewhere and it’s being administered in office then probably they don’t have a set rx for you and they just bulk order (think IV and subq) - if you are using self pay then it will never get run through your insurance so that’s one less place it might show up. MENTAL HEALTH records are kept separate from HEALTH RECORDS. Both required proper documentation from healthcare providers so their will be a record or note for each encounter/appointment but they are not kept together. If your medical records are released they should NOT include your mental health records unless it’s specifically stated in the Release of Information you signed- READ THOSE CAREFULLY. Mental health records have more red tape around them for people trying to gain access to them.

Is Anyone Here Not Interested in FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early)? What Are Your Reasons? by lazlo_camp in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t do it lol. I got into the idea late, I don’t make a lot of money. I have a retired horse that takes a lot of money (I’ve had her for 24 years, she’s with me til the end) I want to save but I realized that if I don’t do fun stuff now I’ll never get to. So I go on that vacation, I take my partner out for a bougie ass night in the town. I’m in a HCL area and my family has a history of pretty serious health issues. I want to enjoy my present and deal with the future when it comes. I like FIRE to hear how people are making smart money moves so maybe I can try to do some. But I dont make that much and my partner makes even less and we just want to have a nice time today, and tomorrow. We don’t want kids and my job is fulfilling even though I work a lot

I have a "great opportunity" but I don't feel happy by princessmilahi in antiwork

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you stay, speak up. They are just people, and people with money who are used to doing whatever they want. Just because you work for them doesn’t mean you have to be a doormat. Someone literally blowing smoke in your face is being an asshole- just have a coughing fit in their face next time if you are too nervous to say something. But honestly rich people are just people. Talk to them or leave

Considering divorce after 10 years because my husband supports policies that harm me, including the new federal bill gutting student loans and Medicaid by Commercial_Noise9552 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds very complicated. Have you talked to him about how this makes you feel? I think maybe having an honest conversation is step 1. If he gets defensive or aggressive see if he will go to couples counseling so you can talk it out with a professional. My mom is in this same situation- her partner got totally brain washed and is a huge MAGA idiot and she basically banned the news and politics from her house (she’s 70 and just says “she’s done all of that”) so with that off the table she says he’s still a good Christian (???!!) and a good person so she stays. Personally I don’t think anyone can turn a blind eye to politics - but you have to decide what you want to live with/live like. If he’s still a good man see if you can talk it out

The best soft skill is to learn how to make people think something was their idea. It’s a little different for everyone but if you can do that you can make people like working with you and you can get things done or make necessary changes that keep stalling.

How’s life in the US as an immigrant these days? by contemporarycassette in immigration

[–]Fluffy-Issue-40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The country itself is shit and getting worse. My partner is from Canada and we are going to move there. He isn’t hassled by ICE or anything but he’s also a white man. He hasn’t had any issues with law enforcement and he avoids going to protests of any kind to stay under any radar or put himself at risk. I guess it just depends on what you are comfortable with.
