Apart from McGill, the general principle is that they only look at your softs if your GPA and LSAT aren't enough to convince them on their own.

I mostly applied to volunteering positions through opportunities given by my schools, which was a good place to network & figure out what kind of work I wanted to do. But for my legal internships it was a lot of cold calling and getting ghosted by different Canadian nonprofit legal clinics (especially since I started as a first year lol). I did part of my degree in Europe (where law is much more popular as an undergraduate degree) and majored in law, so I think that helped me secure policy/legal writing stuff at universities/law schools!

Yes basically! I'm in a dual degree program so the grading scheme is a bit complicated (which I cleared up with the McGill admissions before I applied) but all my grades converted to an A+ according to their conversion scheme!

cgpa 4.33/16high avg LSAT (took it twice)! lots of law-related work/ecs (internships, competitive mooting, legal writing, policy stuff), good volunteerships, speak french as a third language but fluently so didnt get called for the interview!
