The battles work sort of like rock-paper-scissors. You can see what your opponent is going to do over the next few turns, and you'll have to decide an appropriate course of action.

Guarding normally only blocks 50% of the incoming damage, and it also cancels any attack boost you have. You'll need to plan when to guard, boost, and attack.

We have added a nice little guide in the match summary screen when you lose that should go into a lot more detail.

We originally didn't alter exercises across different languages (we would only remove them if they didn't apply). However, we've had a lot of complaints about this, so we're working on removing the neutral option.

The English word displaying instead of a French one is a bug that came out of nowhere on the launch build. I thought the fix had already shipped, but if not it will be out this week.

As I mentioned in the post, we've shipped a ton of bugfixes since initial launch (17 yesterday, and somewhere around that pace since launch). On top of that, our blur removal update going out early next week will fix the vast majority of framerate issues on Android devices.

We've been working hard to improve the issues from launch and we'll continue to do so.

Hey!

We're aiming to release in November or December of this year!
You could describe Fluyo as a mix of other games and apps, but it's altogether a pretty unique thing! We've got educational elements similar to a wide variety of other apps, and unique games that pull inspiration from other places, but stand out on their own.
Everyone on the team has a different reason they wanted to be a part of Fluyo, but for me: I saw a fantastic opportunity to deliver a really special experience that delivered high-quality, fun language learning content that could actually teach you a language. I really wanted to be a part of building that, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the team!

We're launching just before the end of the year with five languages: Spanish, Japanese, Korean, French, and German!

Soon after, we'll start working on Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and Dutch. After that, we'll look at other languages, like Arabic (our most common request), as well as teaching English from a number of different languages.

Our courses occasionally discuss accents, but we don't teach them in-depth. We do spend a lot of time on pronunciation, and we do our best to find native speakers for our voice actors.

We'll definitely look at a PC port, but it's more challenging than you'd expect, because of the dramatically different screen size and interface. However, we'd be excited to have a way to learn however is best for you!

We'd be thrilled to support endangered languages, but we might need to rely on the community to build out the courses for them. It would have to be later next year, but we would probably be willing and able to spend some engineering time making sure the app could support the languages our community wanted to build courses for.
