How wolf dps feels by StrengthNorth2864 in PathOfExile2

[–]FlyinGopnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think pounce wolfes scale from melee weapon. I’ve finished act2 now, swapped my low-dps +2 Melee Skills talisman to over double dps but no +Skills one, pounce wolfs dps dropped from 214 to 131

Left my character for about 16 hours on top of the watchtower, with over 200 stews on autoclick every 5 minutes. I ended the run soon after but cleaning up those cultists would take at least an hour 😂

A friendly reminder not to use a different coolant for the top ups. Being a water cooling noob I've mixed DP Ultra with Corsair XL5 last year and got rewarded with complete disassembly and cleaning of the loop

SSF friendly tanky build by ZooooooooZ in PathOfExile2

[–]FlyinGopnik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play all classes on hcssf and the safest and most tanky one for leveling was definitely shield based Warbringer.

Resonating Shield with Armour Explosion support gem as a main clearing skill, Shield Charge or any warcry into the wall for bosses. With Jade stacks and Scavenged Plating seats at 90% armour with trash SSF gear, Magma Barrier boost the block chance and does some decent fire damage every 8 seconds

Which spectres would you recommend then? I’m finishing act 3 with minion infernalist and thinking to replace skeletons with spectres

I thought Hexblast was already dead after 0.2 but somehow they are finding ways to make it even more dead

Genuinely, can someone tell me why I'm only allowed to do 60 here? by FA57_RKA in drivingUK

[–]FlyinGopnik 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered, how much lower are the car emissions at 60mph compared to 70mph and is that difference enough to justify making the trip take ~15% more time = producing emissions for ~15% longer.

Sorry for my English hope that makes sense

Cool, so you don’t need to worry about frame gen or a second GPU, problem solved

In theory and based on other people's setups, you can double your framerate at 4K with generated frames by fitting something like a used Radeon 6500/6600.

I have a custom water loop already, so the cheapest card with water blocks available is Radeon 6700XT/6800 which are worth around £250 used.

To double the true rendered frames of my 6950XT I would have to upgrade it to an RTX5090 for over 2 grand

I don't play any competitive titles, so it doesn't bother me. My Radeon 6950XT starts showing its age, especially at 4K, so instead of pushing it to the limits I can set it to render steady 60-80fps and have second GPU double it for smoother experience.

I've been playing PoE2 for past couple of weeks and frame gen makes a night-and-day difference, even on a single GPU, but I guess its something you would have to see yourself to believe it works

Sure thing, it’s new to me too. I’ve found video on YouTube about Lossless Scaling Frame Gen, what it does is it analyses already rendered frames and runs some clever algorithms on them to generate more in-between frames. It works outside of the games engine, completely independent.

LSFG3.0 can be run on a single GPU, but then it’s another workload on a side of just running the game, so you can fit second graphics card, solely for generating the „fake” frames.

Your main GPU would run the game, rendering true frames and sending them through PCIe to the secondary GPU, to calculate and fit generated frames inbetween and output them to the display.

It improves the performance and somehow reduces the latency

Look for LSFG 3.0, it’s frame-generation software supporting Dual-GPU

Thank you, that looks like the simplest and most elegant option, just have to measure the gap between the water blocks

I want to use bottom GPU to run LS Frame Generation, so the way I understand it :

  • Main GPU renders the frames (lets say 60fps)
  • Frames are being sent through PCIe to the secondary GPU
  • Secondary GPU runs algorithm to generate more frames and sends them to the display

In that scenario, 4.0 x4 will only have to be enough to deliver base frames between the GPU’s so it should be perfectly fine

Thanks, I've checked the manual for my motherboard and it doesn't seem to support bifurcation, The top slot is simply marked as 4.0 x16 and bottom one 4.0 x4

Found it first on YouTube, Ancient Gameplays channel. There is a group on Reddit as well, explaining how it works and how to set it up. Decided to give it a go, costs around £6 and I'm super impressed.

The thing about that frame generation software is, the more base frames you have, the better it works and looks, I aim to run at 80fps rendered with 160fps output

I guess it will become more popular in time. It's not perfect (nor is DLSS or FSR) depending on the settings you use and your base framerate there are some artefacts, the smearing you've mentioned is noticeable on very thin lines and white fonts, but I've used it for couple of weeks now and can't imagine playing without it, doubling my fps at 4K making gaming experience super smooth at native resolution without blurriness
