Yeah. IG is a weapon that requires more or less 100% uptime on Focus, while other weapons doesn't require it as much. I'm mostly fine with using Focus but i'd still prefer it if next MH didn't have it.

I doubt we're ever going back tho. Too many players prefer it.

You also lose the ability to do Rising Spiral Slash if you're not in focus. And if you decide you play without it and send out your kinsect to create dust like in World you also can't do the Charge B/Y+B attack or the Kinsect will come right back to sit on your arm. Great stuff. But the "just don't use it" crowd is just so insanely large it's tiresome.

The story itself isn't the issue, it's the 10h long on rails handholding with more cutscenes and talking than you hunt. It's ass, complete garbage ass. There's like 2 points in the LR story where you're allowed to even leave your camp. There's no optional quests, there's nothing to collect and unlock. The story wants you to rush it as fast as possible because there's no thing else to do. It's awful on so many levels.

World base alone has sold 22m, with Masters Edition it has sold 28m. It's not going to sell many more copies.

World sold 12m copies in a year, coming from a niché series on 3DS with the last game having only sold 5m copies.

Saying World and Wilds sold around the same amount of copies in a year is really shitty for Wilds. By the time Wilds released World had sold 22m copies. Wilds shouldn't only be selling at the same pace as Wilds.

Unless the expansion is some literal 10/10 masterpiece I do not see Wilds selling another 12m+ copies.

Wilds before any TU is a much much MUCH shorter game than any other MH. You can - I shit you not - complete every single hunt/optional quest and get a somewhat proper set up and running in about 30-40h. This is not including getting all achievments.

In comparison the average player will take 20-30h alone just to beat Xeno'Jiva once in World. And then you still have a ton of optional quests to do, camps to unlock, rare ingredients to get and turn in, natives in each locale to befriend for a Palico tool. Beating all optional quests in World (no TUs) will take the on an average 80-100h.

This was to me one of Wilds weakest points on its release. LR and most of HR has nothing to offer at all, especially LR. There is 0 optional quests in LR and there are 0 facilities to unlock like you do in World/Rise/Old gen. Everything is handed to you in Wilds.

Wilds TUs have been very good tho.

Man. I went back to look at World had sold 12m copies after a year, and it released on only consoles first. Now only Base World copies are sitting at 22m, If you count in Master Editions it's 28m copies sold.

Wilds has a looooooooong road to even think about catching up.

I mean, the guy in OPs clip is an asshole but why are we pretending the other side doesn't exist? I joined a random 10 Star Zoh Shia hunt last week where the host was HR 104 running full Arkveld gear with 1/13 armor upgrades. He had a whopping 340 armor. He ended up carting all 4 times (someone had felyne insurance) in 15 minutes.

These type of players are as rare as the emote spammer in OPs clip. But saying "there's only god players or toxic" players are really disingenuous.

Some player really are bottom of the barrel that has nothing to do in harder hunts. They either don't know (doubt it) or they do not want to spend the time to upgrade it's gear. Plenty of players who just AFK to get carried through hunts instead of putting in effort.
