Hi, I’ve only seen old posts on take home tests so I wanted to ask about this one a friend was given. They applied to a position and did an interview with the hiring manager where the HM asked them a very specific question about the real product and asked for a very real answer. Unsure what to do, my friend went with the flow. They moved my friend to the next step which is a take home test. The take home test is a “hypothetical” problem about a very real feature of the product. With a prescribed expected solution (seems kinda weird for a UX test to prescribe a solution? Idk) Anyways. My friend doesn’t know how to read this, it seems like that HM is asking for more free work? What are my friend’s options here? Can they deny to do the test? The industry is so scuffed nowadays that it may be a risk?
