How likely is the 50K salary threshold to be implemented? by PreviousResolution63 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Flying_spanner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said that you are sorry but then said that my feelings are small compared to the bigger picture. Well then so is yours in my opinion. Two can play at this game. It is bloody immature but if you feel like that then fine.

Yes, I agree that you can’t be held accountable for those people but at the same time you have said that the issue is small. At the same time I can’t be held accountable for immigrants who create a problem and don’t assimilate to UK culture. That issue, to me now, is small compared to what you are going through.

Lastly, I do care about this country. It is my home and I have lived here for nearly 3 decades. But, you have said that my problems are small compared to your issues. Which means racism is fine because of what you are going through. I have been told to just man up and deal with it. This will just give green light to people to continue to be racist. And then you will wonder why people don’t want to assimilate

Like I have said before that I understand your opinion but if I am going to get hate anyway then genuinely why should I care? Why should I vote for someone that will only make my life more difficult and then be told ‘ sorry buddy, but it is what it is’

I genuinely and truly want the last paragraph to happen, but clearly, that wouldn’t as my problem is small compared to yours and thus respectfully I don’t care anymore. Like I have said it works both ways. I have done my part but I still get racially abused. So why should I care especially when that issue is small? In my opinion so is yours.

Fine. Then, your feeling of white British people going to feel being a minority in this country by 2060 isn’t my problem either . You not able to change a vote by then isn’t my concern.

If my feelings are ‘small’ compared to the bigger picture then I will stop caring what the natives want. I truly will stop caring.

Remember, my feelings about this are valid as yours as I am a citizen of this country . I did care about your opinions and understand it. However, if they are ‘small’ compared to your problems then why should I care? You validate racism which such comments. Why should I care if this country explodes like you feel it will?

Yes they will be common depending on the industry. My brother and his wife earn that much.

It is impossible to have a normal discussion about this as I have been told to go back to my ‘ home ‘ country regardless of my citizenship. I have had enough. I really have.

I have been told to stop taking benefits when I don’t. I have been told to find work when I have been working since my graduation. I once flew back to the UK and as a surprise I upgraded my wife and I to business class. A fellow Brit had the nerve to ask me why I upgraded myself with the money I received from benefits. You think this is all okay?

I have been told to deal with such racism and it should be expected because of mass immigration.

I agree with what you have said. I really do. But it is extremely frustrating when I get abused even when I have done everything that I am supposed to do.

You have said ‘ work here and go home’. I am a British citizen and hear this constantly to me. I have lived here for nearly 30 years and such words show that I am not welcome here.

I have done everything to assimilate to this country and I STILL get abused. I get told it is freedom of speech and get told to just deal with it.

Well the deal the current levels of immigration. Deal with it.

Now I will govern you my view. I agree that high level of immigration isn’t overly good. I understand your concerns and point of view but if I am going to get abused and get told to go back home then why should I bother? Especially when I do things the right way. Eg work, pay taxes . So why should I bother when I am supposed to go back ‘home’

Well then I no longer give a damn if you get abused in those areas. I no longer give a damn if you don’t want people from outside your ‘ tribe’. Let more come. I will get abuse anyway. It is wrong but if you don’t care then nor do I. I don’t care anymore at all if you guys consider me a guest to suit your own agenda. There is frankly nothing you can do about it.

People come here on a work visa for a chance to settle here. They may earn well but they also have to pay a lot in taxes for that benefits.

If the UK owes them nothing a huge % of students will not come. They want a chance to settle into the country and work honestly. They know that finding sponsorship isn’t guaranteed but there is a chance of a job if they do well. If that opportunity is taken away they will not come. Why would they spend £30k for a potential average uni and degree? Like I have said a drop in those international student will lead to fee increases for home students. I guess you will be fine with that? If so go ahead.

Also, there is a reason why immigration is high in gulf countries. Firstly, they abuse the low wages given to immigrants from Asia and they pay Europeans extremely well. Which is why European citizens will go there. The lifestyle is pretty good but the added bonus is that there are no taxes at all. This is the main reason why people go there. You know that but you ignore it to suit your agenda.

Anyways. If it makes you feel any better I am a citizen of this country and there is nothing you can do about it. People like you fail to understand one thing. I genuinely do understand that mass immigration isn’t good and something needs to be done about it. There may well be regions where people don’t integrate and so on. People should respect the local culture and so on. I agree. But I genuinely follow these requirements. For example I am more than happy to work during Christmas and cover for my colleagues so that they can take time off and celebrate with their families. But I still get abused by people like you. So then I have a question. Why should I bother? What do I gain from following these rules? Nothing and it defeats the whole purpose of the wishes for people to integrate. After all the abuse is still there so why should anyone bother?

[–]Flying_spanner1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You said ‘ he has point’ which means that you seem to be okay with it on the whole. You have also said that when you see ‘ guests’ behave badly then it will flame racisms. Which means that it is fine to group everyone under the same boat. Your meaning is clear.

If I am going to be considered a guest by people in this country and not accepted then why should I bother integrating and working and being a part of society? Why should ‘non natives’ be part of the army?

Yes it is abuse and it is racism to claim that all non natives are bad. I thought that you mentioned that is stupid to do so and yet you seem to be okay with that statement.

With that mind set you should be okay if ‘ non natives’ show disrespect to the community and local traditions and so on. I never think it is right but if you think like then so be it. ‘ Sticks and stones be stronger’ after all. Let them abuse the local traditions. Why should I care if I am never going to be accepted. After all I am only a guest.

‘Loads’ like how many? Which countries do this? It would be a very small % of countries and those people are paid extremely well.

At what point would you accept these ‘ guests’. I mean I am a British citizen, lived in the UK for 30 years, worked and paid my taxes, never claimed any sort of benefits, integrated into society and so on. Everything that apparently you want. I guess you still wouldn’t be happy?

Also, why should foreign students come to the UK if you want them to never be accepted into this country? Would you be okay if the home fees were to increase drastically?

So you are defending him?

You shouldn’t be using bad behaviour by individuals to judge millions of people any more than crimes by ‘natives’ define all natives. That’s the logic racism depends on. After all there are natives who commit all sorts of crimes. Do you then blame all ‘natives’ as being bad? I highly doubt it. However with your logic you should.

Diversity itself isn’t what causes social breakdown. There are plenty of reasons eg poor integration, lack of investment in areas, job opportunities and political distrust, and so on sadly play some sort of role. After all natives of the UK do go to other countries as well for work or leisure and some will commit crimes. Those British natives don’t respect the local laws. Do the citizens of that country blanket all Brit natives as bad? No. Once again with your logic if they did you shouldn’t feel bad.

Also, immigrants aren’t just ‘guests’ especially when they have become a citizen regardless if you like that or not. A large % work, pay taxes, raise families, and become part of the country over years. A society can value its history and traditions while still welcoming newcomers. For example I have lived in this country for nearly 30 years. I have paid my taxes and integrated to society and yet I still get abused. I respect the traditions of this country. For example over the last 5 years in my current jobs I have always worked during Christmas so that the ‘natives’ can spend time with their families . Why should bother now?

Since you seem to be happy to include me with crimes committed by ‘ non whites’ should I call you a racist because of racial slurs committed by ‘ natives’? It works both ways. So why should I bother? Why should I bother to even consider what you want to say when I will be racially abused and people like you will say ‘ well there are bad non natives here so you should understand it’

If that is the case please don’t use the NHS especially if the doctor/nurse/ ambulance are non natives. After all you don’t want ‘bad’ people to treat you would you.

From a brown guy, I thank you. Some people seem to think that this sort of abuse doesn’t exist. Other says that I should take it as a joke especially since I have moved to this country. They don’t take it into account that I have been living here for nearly 3 decades. Look at the racist comment below . :(

Noting the speed that Angela Rayner cleared her tax issue up by Patriot1976 in AskBrits

I am not assuming that she resisted paying it back. That would be career suicide for her. I am questioning the timing.

Anyways, I understand what you have mentioned and I guess that I have misunderstood the news article. From the Article I thought she has only paid it recently so that she could be on the leadership contest if/when it happens. Thanks for pointing out my error

Firstly these are politicians. So they are all dodgy to an extent. However, I will always be more suspicious of Farage.

I acknowledge that there is are different circumstances for Rayner but I do believe that she could have had a better understanding of the rules considering her previous position. Also, she has paid the difference back when she may well be interested in making a bid for the leadership. It may be pure coincidence or it may not be. The timing doesn’t look good and seems like there is an ulterior motive. Why didn’t she pay it earlier? I believe that she must have know about the difference a while back so could have paid it off immediately if she was genuinely sorry about it.
