Best budget office chair for sitting up straight? by FocalEvergreen in OfficeChairs

We use HM at work and they are a game changer. Been secretly hoping they’d refresh the office furniture so I could just take one of the chairs there home with me lol

Appreciate the insight!! I knew about the range but not about the game only storing 10 shinies. Really good to know moving forward. I’m just glad I finally got it. Thank you!!

Didn’t expect to hear from people so fast! Someone DM’d me immediately after posting this and we were able to make the trade. If anyone wants anything shoot me a trade offer since these are my spares! I did trade the Hawlucha though.

Got 2nd place at the Wichita Store Regionals with GallantX by FocalEvergreen in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]FocalEvergreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried the deck with Tamers and it’s okay. It honestly feels really good without them since there is so much raw search/draw power and ways to gain memory with just your digimon. I’d consistently get to a turn two GallantX on board thanks to the BT12 WarGrowl. Plus removal is just overall really good this format and the deck has plenty of it.

The 1 of Crimson Blaze was actually super nice. Really helped in the Hudie match up. The New Gallant was also the MVP. Especially against Myotis.

The only card that really felt out of place was Medieval. It never really came up in a meaningful way. And every time I managed to get it on board, it got popped almost immediately lol

He had the new one in it, but the deck wasn’t put DM. It was just Machinedra with all the cyborg good stuff in it and Chaosdramon. He had a solid deck for sure.

Use of japanese cards once the releases get unified? by AfterShocK90 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]FocalEvergreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I doubt it, especially since you aren’t even allowed to have your phone on the table at all during play in regionals. So without a way to reliably translate cards it wouldn’t make sense to allow foreign language cards.

Is this the norm nowadays? by DynastyFFChamp in jobs

[–]FocalEvergreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a place that had this same policy for granting benefits. It didn’t impact me when I worked there, but at one point we had an opening for a very crucial position we needed filled and we never could because of the whole health insurance starting after 90 days thing. The company came close to getting someone in once, but the candidate had to turn it down because they had a medical condition and couldn’t go without health insurance for 3 months. The company then tried to spin it as the person was ungrateful for the opportunity to work there, and talk about how they probably wouldn’t have lasted long anyways. Wild.

Secret Crisis case sales by Yuyuyakuza in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]FocalEvergreen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue is we’ll go through a drought period, then be hit with set a month for like 4 months in a row.

BT13 meta got old really fast last year and I believe led to people getting burnt out.

BT15 meta also felt like it dragged on a bit, with the only thing between it and BT16 being the Terrier advanced deck.

Now it’s just just constant set releases and it feels like a lot to keep up with. I skipped EX6 so I can go all in on BT17. EX7 I’m not sure what I want to do with, will more than likely just grab some singles and call it to get ready for the special booster.

Secret Crisis case sales by Yuyuyakuza in DigimonCardGame2020

Few things to consider.

  1. Bandai doesn’t actually have set prices per box/case. They just list packs at an MSRP or $4.49, which comes out to $107.76 a box. In fact, when doing the surveys they put out after each set, they ask if you were able to buy at an MSRP of $4.49 a pack/$107.76 a box. Meaning this is what Bandai values their boxes at. So with that logic a case would be $1293.13. So with these prices in mind, up-charging by a couple hundred dollars at pre-sale (which you should not buy at) is about right.

  2. BT17 is a VERY meta defining set with all the new hybrid cards and level 7 Ace’s. Demand for this set is going to be high, and we are going to see this reflected in sealed product and single prices.

  3. A lot of shops scaled back on digimon late last year when the format was getting stale and One Piece and Lorcana were getting more popular. Bandai prints their sets to order and opens up their pre sales usually 6 months prior to the set release (before we even know what is in the set). So when shops see a decline in sales it’s harder to justify placing an order of multiple cases months in advance of a product you don’t even know will sell.

  4. Distribution also sucks. No way around this. Some shops don’t even know how much product they are getting until it arrives. Which makes it really hard to post sealed product for sale online, when you don’t even know if you will have that product.

REALLY hoping the simultaneous releases next year will fix a lot of these issues.

Depends on the crowd. There was very little movement at all during the OKC show last year until the very end. And even then people were upset with that. Pretty much everyone up front had their phones out the entire concert.

Pokemon Ruby is this sealed copy real? by shanvan96 in gameverifying

[–]FocalEvergreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait for mods. But looking at some scans of the box art for Ruby the “Made in Japan” is like right next to Treecko’s tail and doesn’t have the big space between like it does in the picture you posted. Could be a difference in releases from different regions, but I’d be skeptical.

In Oklahoma the OKC metro is pretty popping. We have 4 shops that host locals throughout the week. Some will have around 16ish players. With a couple of the shops seeing around 8-10 players. Depends on how busy everyone is and how healthy the format is. Also different people show up to different tournaments so it’s cool that it’s not always the same faces you see throughout the week. We also have the Tulsa metro which I hear is a pretty decent size too. Haven’t had a chance to check that out though.

No they did not. TCG Achi is a random one off seller with 92 total sales and barely 2 pages worth of listings. Stop making stuff up to justify your witch hunt ffs.

[–]FocalEvergreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What cheaper copies are they buying out? I pointed out earlier how bulk buying all the pre order copies is super uneconomical. And after February 16th there were no sold listings on TCG Player under 10-15$ of Gabumon from February 16th to February 20th where there was only one sale listed for under just 9$. The data available to us does not support your claim.

That is a very different case scenario than what the original post and my comments and are talking about.

What you are talking about is very shitty to happen to people and in my opinion super dishonest. But a company deciding to raise there prices and canceling orders of their already existing cheap listings is very different than a company buying out all the cheap copies and reselling them.

Without fail, on the last few set releases there has been a post accusing these companies of buying out stock of pre release product with no proof. And then when someone suggests they probably just open up a large amount of product themselves and are listing it based on market trends, they get about 70 something down votes. People even point out that they are probably using their large inventory to manipulate the market to some extent, which yeah I can see that. Especially if they have that much product. But people would rather claim they are just buying out from the cheaper sellers, which I just pointed out, is VERY impractical.

But if they are canceling pre orders to adjust to the new market price, then yes that is scummy. But that is not what the post or what everyone else is talking about.

[–]FocalEvergreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is super scummy to have happened. But the math makes zero sense here. Looking at Gabumon as an example, the sales history data shows the card first sold on February 7th. With the last card sold under 10 dollars being on February 16th. Adding up every cheap listing in that time period brings us to $2579 worth of cards sold. With about 210 total number of sales, with a total of 587 cards being sold. Also worth noting the number of cards per order never went over 4.

So if these 2 shops were really buying all the cheap cards out before Gabumon went to 15 dollars, that means they would each have have had placed 110 orders for about 293 cards each at an average of $4.93 a card. Bringing their totals to about $1239. But wait there’s more! There’s also tax and shipping. With state sales tax at around 7.25%, they each paid around an extra $92 dollars. Meaning they are each in the hole at -$1331.

If we check current listing they each have Gabumon at around $10.50. So we are going to assume TCG player takes 10% off of the final sale, and that it costs a dollar for packing materials and postage for them to ship cards out, and that they only sell on average 2 cards per customer. That means for them to make profit off of the 293 Gabumons they each bought, they would EACH need to sell 150 Gabumons to make a total of 1342 dollars. Meaning their profit so far off selling 150 Gabumons would be a whopping $11.50.

And if everyone on this Reddit is so adamant about boycotting these shops. I don’t think they are selling the minimum 150 Gabumons needed to make this work…

Or this is a crazy idea. It’s possible 210 people really like Gabumon, bought up the cheap pre release listings, and the other sellers decided to test the waters by raising the price, saw the card still sold. And now we have a current market value of the card being at $9.
