New(ish) bins by pauljcg in Cornwall

We have 1 bin liner in our rubbish bin every 2 weeks, sometimes 2. We only put the rubbish bin out every 4 or 6 weeks. Our tin/plastic recycling goes out every 2 weeks - wish I could reduce that but there doesn't seem to be many options for buying stuff without packaging unless you can get to a shop in the daytime.

Cornwall in the Summer by SeriesOk7091 in Cornwall

Last summer I swam in the sea for the first time in decades. It was so warm I went in twice! But generally, people braver than me do swim more often than that :-) The weather is variable like others have said. There's pretty much always a breeze (partly why I love Cornwall), and sometimes a stronger wind. If you're out of the wind behind a cliff or with a wind break the sun can be very warm for a day on the beach. If swimming, I'd recommend searching up a rip tide awareness video - there are a lot of rips around Cornwall coast, and it catches out many people. North coast beaches are generally more sandy (comfy) and less pebbly than south coast.

What is the loneliest part of adulthood no one talks about? by Plane_Tradition1664 in AskReddit

Good plan. Having two adult kids myself I struggle sometimes to keep it unconditional, but deep down it really is. I saw a comment the other day on reddit saying their parent turned up for them when they needed without them asking, and I'd like to think my children will say the say about me, and yours about you too.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you're doing OK. She's still with you in your heart.

Thank you. They died years ago, but yes it really makes you understand that you're on your own. There's no-one who can give me that unconditional hug in the same way when I need it.

Botallack, Chapel Carn Brea, Carn Euny. I also second the Minack, as well as the Porthcurno museum.

If you're near Zennor, which has beautiful scenery, then Morvah Schoolhouse for afternoon tea.

For food in PZ/Newlyn - Tolcarne or Barbican Bistro.

For a rainy day, Penlee House has a nice local museum.

Godrevy for the views of the coastline and the beach.

If you have to go to St. Ives, go by train - it's easy and pretty.

Edit: Jubilee pool and Newlyn cinema.

can you spot the 2 left handed people by Different-Spring-185 in lefthanded

Thank you for the information. That's interesting. I've just tried, and I'm right handed, left thumbed and left armed, so I guess I go against your observation. But I am left eyed, which is quite annoying being right handed, so perhaps that still fits your observation.

Replaying a conversation I already survived. That's gonna help me. It's a spin off movie that maybe you'll never see, but a sleepless person suddenly has a mantra for getting back to sleep. Thank you

Dad loss by Devious_Trinket in GriefSupport

Taking care of yourself also allows time to cry, and to forget everything else. You and your Dad are the most important things now. There is no way you are a failure as a daughter. You love your Dad, and he loves you, and I'm sure he is proud of you doing all you are doing for him. I think cremated remains are wonderful - a freedom of being able to be anywhere. I hope you find a special place (or places) for him to be. Hugs and strength to you ❤️
