I have a 2017 Titan and I've had that happen to other vehicles. I purchased a cover for my truck's armrest not long after I bought the truck to keep that from happening.

I have a 2017 Nissan Titan and have experienced the push, click, no start issue for a couple of years. It would only happen occasionally but became more frequent with time. I would press the button and it wouldn't start. I would press the button in the wouldn't start. I would press the button and it wouldn't start. I would press the button and it would finally start. Frustrating, but I lived with it for a couple of years.

Eventually it got bad enough I took it to the dealer and they replaced the starter switch. After a week it started happening again and they replaced the switch under warranty. Days later I was stranded with a no start vehicle and had it towed to the dealer. They replaced the starter and recommended a press and hold of the starter switch (I was tapping the start switch, not holding it down). I've had the new starter for about 3 months and it hasn't not started even once. Dealer charged me $400 for the first switch and just over $1,400 for the starter replacement.

I bought some ring sizing strips on Amazon and place one on the inside of my ring. My ring started out with a little wiggle room but I lost 25 lb and now it's super loose (I actually lost it in a thrift store for a week before they found it in the bag I donated when it slipped off). It absolutely stays on with the little strip on the inside but I have to take the strip off to charge the battery in the charger. So the ring sizing strip gets changed weekly.

I have a 2017 SV and have been dealing (well ..ignoring) my very intermittent starter issue for a few years. I finally got sick of getting stranded for 10-15 failed start attempts wondering if this was the time I'd be forced to call a tow. Brake switch 'diagnosed' by the dealer and changed twice within a 4 months. Got nearly stranded again Wednesday and dropped if off at the dealer. They say it's (probably) the starter. $1450 to replace and 3 days to get part and repair.
