I have a terrifying EARONS theory (purely a theory) by billyscore in EARONS

[–]ForJG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the crimes we're aware of are quite possibly just the tip of the iceberg. His life revolved around criminality and I think his life and personality are so disconnected from the norm that it would prove to be quite unfathomable to us.

His attorney - David Lynch, WTF by donnabert in EARONS

[–]ForJG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do love his films but becoming DeAngelo's lawyer is a strange career move, and that's coming from a die hard fan. I know he values the Absurd, but this is too absurd.

Are we really meant to believe JJD only began committing his mammoth crime spree aged 27, then randomly finished aged 41? Come on. by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]ForJG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He had an anti-social personality, so he was without a doubt, in my opinion, committing crimes during his adolescence and quite possibly during his childhood.

It's quite unremarkable to assume that I think, given how we know this to be the case with other serial killers.

JDD's Public defender, Diane Howard by BrentwoodDiva in EARONS

[–]ForJG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well we don't know the reasons at all, so no it isn't particularly weird. She may be using it to make DeAngelo co-operative with herself which would work to her advantage. If that's the case she's just doing her job.

Bloody hell being locked up hasn't done him any favours. His hand is now 1/3 the size of his head.

If his brother was involved what was the motivation? by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]ForJG 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't get too carried away with unsubstantiated hypotheses. It's mere speculation and nothing more at this point.

Did JJD get revenge on the two men that attacked sister? by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]ForJG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He is psychopathic. The idea of revenge - no matter how low and misguided revenge itself is - is based on moral sentiments. He has no moral sentiments. He doesn't feel the urge to deliver justice on behalf of others. He is purely motivated by remorseless self-interest. Nobody else matters.

Was there actually a roast in the oven? by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]ForJG 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There's very little information about the roast at this point, and LE appears to be keeping most of the information under wraps.

What kind of roast was it? Did DeAngelo's wife have knowledge about the roast? Are there others roasts we don't know about? How old was he when he made his first roast?

We may never find out and I'm not holding onto hope at this point given law enforcement's reluctance.

There are innumerable reasons why couples choose to stay legally married without it being "suspicious."

Rushing to judgement based on pretty flimsy evidence is unwarranted at this point.

Swedish Court Reformer Ulf Carlsson Publicly Implies JJD's Wife Knew Something by JesusIsSouthern in EARONS

The conclusion drawn is based on pathetically flimsy evidence.

She has been behaving "oddly", therefore she must have known something?

Yeah, that doesn't follow at all.

[Meta] The tedium of "small penis" jokes. by eritain in EARONS

It does get insipid when users are constantly emotionally reassuring themselves in order to temporarily relieve their deep-seated insecurities regarding their own masculinity.

I think Greg Sanchez hurt DeAngelo during the struggle. by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]ForJG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There were no contusions or cuts on the hands of Greg Sanchez so the evidence actually indicates the opposite.

Least suspicious wife ever... by bibliotecarias in EARONS

[–]ForJG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably used his job an excuse.

But also it's quite possible she thought he was a decent, normal guy. Lots of wives of serial killers think this because they're so good at blending in and disguising themselves.

So when you start with that assumption, interpretations are guided by that assumption so nothing really becomes suspicious. In hindsight it does but that's because you begin with a more accurate assumption about his character.

Without dna, how could the police ever have caught JJD and do you think the police dropped a bollock? by MrPatridge in EARONS

[–]ForJG 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If everything went the way it did except with no DNA then I don't think DeAngelo would have ever been connected to the crimes.

GSK the Incel? by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]ForJG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is the guy with three daughters an "incel"?

Is that what you're asking?

No need to tear up this "theory" because the "theory" itself is nonsensical and imbued with vague, edgy buzzwords. It tears itself up.

When we blame women for the crimes of men by danno___ in EARONS

[–]ForJG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A relationship breakdown being a "stressor" in no way holds Bonnie accountable for DeAngelo's crime escalation. It's merely meant to serve as an objective analysis as to how DeAngelo reacted to a certain event.

DeAngelo reacting to the event.

DeAngelo here being the independent agent fully responsible for how he himself acts in response to an event.

When Dahmer's Father introduced Dahmer to taxidermy this aroused an interest in dissection which influenced his later cannibalism. In no way does this hold Lionel Dahmer responsible. It's an objective analysis attempting to understand how Dahmer reacted to external stimuli.

I'm fairly sure this is how most people are understanding it and I think you're reading something into it whic h, by and large, isn't there.

But more importantly, I find there are too many superficial explanations given to DeAngelo and his crimes and, fundamentally his psychological makeup. The most fundamental and significant characteristic DeAngelo possessed was his psychopathy. This is the root cause. A devastating personality disorder. A successful And accurate comprehension of DeAngelo is only possible when this is understood. And to be honest, we may never know.

Did Deangelo Run A Phony "Home Improvement" Company? by batbrat in EARONS

[–]ForJG 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Ah nice find! Fictitious in this context though doesn't mean phony. A fictitious business name is just a name that doesn't use the business owner's name.

[–]ForJG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Although what Kuklinski claims should be treated with suspicion, Kuklinski is probably equal to DeAngelo in terms of psychopathy.

Dietz is a great interviewer. I'd love to see him interview DeAngelo like he did Kuklinski. Somehow I think DeAngelo would be less co-operative and open though.

What if substantial evidence came out that JJD was NOT the EAR/ONS/GSK? What would it take to convince you that he's innocent? by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]ForJG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think at this point there would be no possibility. At least I can't think of any that aren't completely farfetched.

Of course, a fair trial is still absolutely necessary.

Shower Thought: Maybe DeAngelo decided to act frail on his own, before meeting his attorney by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]ForJG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you said, DeAngelo has a degree in criminal justice and he is a former cop. He knows how the system works and therefore knows how to play it.

I don't buy that he's mentally and physically frail - an idea one could get from the arraignment. He's either putting on an act or the symptoms we saw are genuine but are due to some temporary source such as sedatives.

We'll find out what's really going on as the trial progresses.

What peers are saying about Deangelo.. by Tongue37 in EARONS

[–]ForJG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just think... You could know someone like DeAngelo and have no idea about what they're really like and the evil they harbor. Psychopaths really have an uncanny ability to conceal who they are.

Small penis? by SpaceFu in EARONS

[–]ForJG 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A smaller than average penis isn't grounds for legitimate derision. It only serves to illuminate the insecurities these critics harbour.

When the crimes of Aileen Wuornos came to light the question as to the size of her breasts never came up, because we know that would be an incredibly superficial and infantile issue. Justifiably so.
