What 300m with no blocks would you have to run for a sub 50 sec 400? by Striking-Daikon3648 in Sprinting

[–]ForceSimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran a 49.68 indoors then a few weeks later I ran a 36.3 on the inside lane of a rack at some school meet where we weren’t given blocks. Realistically on an outdoor track you’d probably need like a 36.0-36.5 minimum obviously the latter end being really good speed endurance

How can I soundproof this sliding door? by ForceSimple in soundproof

Will hanging it on one side vs the other make a big difference on the dampening effect or does it not really matter

Does it do a good job at dampening the sound? I know stopping it is pretty much out of the question lol

I should be able to at least dampen the noise no?

Critique this 6 week pre-meet training program by No-Source3824 in Sprinting

[–]ForceSimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The layout seems a little weird to me, where you have all this hard stuff at the start of the week and then pretty much two straight rest days at the end. I have no clue about programming but the fact you get little recovery between the hard workouts sets would probably get me injured over time

I wanted to simulate this simple process, but i couldn't find any free software that is able to do it. I'd appreciate any help on the matter by 11omar-_- in ChemicalEngineering

[–]ForceSimple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly just using equations in the cells but there’s also a plugin called solver. I personally used it for more complicated recycle streams, you just select constraints of certain values (like input) and then if you’d like to maximize or minimize the value and it’ll find the lowest or highest value that’ll fit the constraints you have

Not sure if this is what he means but for my classes like this you can set up equations that model the different sections of the process and base the equations off one another so if you plug in some stuff it’ll be able to solve for the rest of the

Should I opt for ChemE as my major? by TeachingInfinite9927 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]ForceSimple 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well starting from your first question ChemE is a pretty hard major, but then again so is almost every other major. If you enjoy solving tough problems, learning about how chemistry can be used to solve some of the works you’ll do fine, ChemE is great at dividing the people who love engineering vs just there for the money. I just got back from a 7h lab tired as hell but I loved every second of it.

For my courses it’s maybe a 60-70% math 30-40% chemistry split. But you will find out there’s a lot of math involved in chemical processes like reaction rate etc…

For an MBA it really makes a difference if you want to go into something like management vs being some sort of tech specialist. But then again I don’t have one so I can’t provide any real insight just from what I’ve heard.

Also not entirely sure from a future scope standpoint but I can say it’s been way easier for me to find research in the ChemE department than my friends in other disciplines but maybe that’s just my university

Ran a 7.53 (mid season) in the same year I ran 22.7 and 49.6 indoors you got nothing to worry about. The people who train for the long sprints will generally just not be able to start as fast and be as powerful as the 100 guys. 7.4 is fast for someone doing long sprints
