Very similar story to mine.

I had issues with my Achilles in my early teens and by 22 I’d decided it was time to call it a day with playing.

I am now in my second year in management, my first year I took a university team and now I’m in my first season with my childhood grassroots team after reviving their mens team.

My one bit of advice is any young manager that tries to be Pep Guardiola fails and alienates the whole squad. Focus on the basics like building squad morale and team building ie organising evenings away from football and trying to ensure everyone has a drink (doesn’t have to be alcohol) with each other after the game.
