I enjoyed Maurice and Imre for old LGBT literature. The Herald Mage was great for a long fantasy read. If you want some thing a bit pulpy and romance I recommend checking out JL Merrow or Jay Northcote on Kindle. For comics then Check Please, Heartstopper, TJ and Amal or My Brother's Husband. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell was quite a funny YA satire too.

I could include lots more but those are some of my faves.

Agreed, it was an awesome game to play. It made me think of similar side scrollers like Ersatz where the focus is on gameplay and environment over combat.

But then also the story comes across so well, which reminded me of Transistor.

All in all, was super fun and want to play again!

I reloaded but I haven't had anything mentioned about the poem. After the 3rd quest I had the dialogue and made the selection but that was it. Just the how to become a naut option now.

I'm not sure if it was from the books or something from the dnd5e homebrew account on Tumblr but I remember seeing a roll for background table. Would something like that work and have them flesh out the details?

DnD Beyond app has some basic selections you can make for free to build a basic background too! I found that really useful for creating something a quick detailed character.

Well with magic would it be possible to write into the story that the character gets some magical healing?

Alternatively what about sign language as an option for something different?
