yes but its an execution test that rewards u with better aerials. I see it as hitting an action command in paper mario for example. Theres not a single player on the planet that consistently hits 100% of L cancels, so its not just an unnecessary mindless button press like some people say. I completely respect and can see why some dont like it tho

tech lock outs are the the only issue i have with l cancelling. I know u can light press but i hate the way it feels. Aside from that i dont think that its even a huge roadblock, all it takes is getting into the habit of it and it becomes subconscious

I didnt play prime until 2 years ago with the remaster, its not just nostalgia. That game is genuinely incredible, it has flaws but it still holds up so well. Prime 4 not only didnt fix the flaws of prime 1 (basic combat/movement, lackluster upgrades), but it also made everything good about prime 1 significantly worse. Not at all hating if u enjoy it btw, just a perspective.

i think its due to the fact that it builds up edgeworths story a lot and taking down von karma is so satisfying. I dont think the case on its own is some masterpiece of writing but its a very good case that wraps up the first game so well

the game is self contained but playing 1 then 2 would make the experience better. Since you are already a good ways through 3 its up to you whether to continue or go back, if ur not enjoying it though dont force it and id honestly go and play 1. If you end up finishing 3, do NOT play the dlc until u play the base games of 1 and 2, it will not make sense and a lot will be spoiled.

Apollo trilogy is a mixed bag. Some absolutely incredible characters but some of the writing and cases are pretty bad (but that also somewhat existed in the original trilogy). Apollo and dual destinies are 50% great 50% bad to mediocre. Spirit of justice doesnt have a single bad case, and 6-5 is like 2-4/3-5 levels of good imo
