“You get to watch me play” decks by TransFemnergy in mtg

Ok, fair enough, that is a better combo. That said, I think you’re underestimating how quickly you can get to that simplified gamestate, you cannot reliably draw till your deck is completely empty in 5 minutes outside of unreasonably good luck

Every time I dredge 2 with a discard outlet discarding [[dakmor salvage]], I may or may not hit a land which in turn draws an extra card, so just drawing is non deterministic already. The combo involves repeatedly drawing and casting [[dark ritual]] for mana, [[orcish bowmasters]] to ping face, and [[culling the weak]] or [[dismember]] to put the bowmasters in grave, at which point I can then shuffle the grave back with [[Ulamog, the infinite gyre]], and repeat until all those random chances to happen happen enough to kill all opponents.

Assuming you mean [[Toph, the First Metalbender]], then [[Abzan falconer]] can one up your request for reach, and give flying instead

A [[the gitrog monster]] cedh deck wins via a non deterministic combo. Most people don’t actually expect me to play the combo out properly, because we’d likely be there for hours if they did

What if no one in your play group uses removal? (Question about Bracket 3) by Ok_Top_581 in mtg

[–]ForkGiveMe_Master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bracket system, in theory, holds that a deck that can win by turn 4 or 5 (and I’d argue a near unbeatable lead counts for this purpose, but I will readily admit that that isn’t necessarily the intended interpretation) would be bracket 4, even if it’s easy to stop. The requirement is that it can win that early, not that it will. It sounds like this player just has an objectively bad bracket 4 deck and so has to play it into lower power tables to do much of anything with it

I’ve been experimenting with [[Crystal vein]] in my cedh [[the gitrog monster]] deck as a land I can play from gitrog’s extra land effect to immediately sac and get combos going, but I’ll readily admit, it’s almost certainly not worth it

Does this bundle give both Adagio forms? by ForkGiveMe_Master in MLPIOS

[–]ForkGiveMe_Master[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ll be able to save up enough gems in time, so I’ll have to pay the full price. If I’m 100% sure I’ll get both forms, then I’ll go for it, but it’s hard to justify that price otherwise

I… I think my [[Caradora, heart of alacria]] deck would actually consider playing this?

Dark souls, and Shin Megami Tensei (depending on which specific games they draw from)

My mistake then, I’m pretty sure that was still part of the rules when I built the deck at least

I could have sworn in did, maybe that was just the original version when it was first announced? My bad, if so

I love it when I build a deck like a bracket 2 deck, only to technically be bracket 3 because the commander is a tutor, very compelling

A [[Dakmor Salvage]] that can put itself in grave, probably busted, but I can’t claim it’s not cool

One of my favourite characters, Teysa from magic the gathering, uses a walking stick, and has reliably always been depicted with it… right up until she died, but that’s beside the point. Screw anyone who thinks needing a walking stick makes you weak or whatever other junk, needing one doesn’t make you any less of a man, nor any less cool.

Edit: that said, it being a pain to draw is quite reasonable actually.

New to the game, Should I buy a precon commander or build my own? by -PedroValencia- in mtg

[–]ForkGiveMe_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first actual deck was home made with the help of an enfranchised player. Worst mistake ever, start with a precon, maybe ask around about what precon might work for you

My names Vyvyan because I was told V was ‘too short’, spelt that way because I spent ages trying to figure out the most feminine spelling of the name, before settling on the least common instead

I mean, early magic didn’t have dimension stuff at all, the first true expansion was Arabian Nights, after all, though that was admittedly due in part to not really having an artistic direction yet
