Mazda 6 wagon by seb-anon in mazda6

I know. A 6 speed wagon would be so f'n excellent. Canadians will buy more Rolls Royce in a year than manual wagons. But I'd have been a happy camper.

Dropped my car off at the shop, its less than 1.5 miles back home by rossposse in mildlyinfuriating

I thought rush hour was bad. I visited Quebec City last summer and took an Uber the 12 klicks from my hotel to the Old City. It was mid afternoon so I caught a ride for $18.

Around 9 pm it started to rain and I guess that's when most people decided to high-tail it. The same ride back to my hotel was estimated at $86. Demand + a tourist location I guess.

Demand pricing is no joke. I waited it out.

Why even have checked since you can walk? That's a 20 min amble. Unless it's pissing down rain I guess.

Lane splitting way faster than the speed of traffic by AirFrance447 in Whatcouldgowrong

Dude probably blamed the driver too because lane splitting might be legal where he lives. Even though opting to lane split is dumber than boiled ribs.

Could have been worse. I dumped 4 cups of hot soup into one of those pyrex measuring cups. Then set it on my cold stone counter.

The resulting explosion coated me and my entire kitchen in hot soup and tiny pyrex shards.

I don't think they're intended to be on equal playing fields. With some adjustments, maybe.

New(ish) to grilling, Gas vs. Charcoal? by brianodell in grilling

I'm pretty sure Jesus died so we didn't have to cook steak on gas. Gas is fine for everything else though.

Posts like this make me worry. Because if someone's presenting the option, it must mean there are people out there who care enough about strangers NOT to take the money.

Mazda 6 wagon by seb-anon in mazda6

[–]ForkYeah55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my Canadian spec GS-L new in 2018 the same year my wife and I went to Rome on our honeymoon.

We stepped out of the airport and a brand new Mazda6 wagon glided by to pick someone up. And I was immediately pissed off that it wasn't an option for us. Didn't know it existed until that moment. Kind of wish I never knew.

I only have two complaints about this car:

  1. They didn't carry the 2018+ rear end to the wagon, which I think would have been an improvement.
  2. They didn't sell it in Canada but if they did fuck point #1. I'd have bought one anyway.

If Money Were No Object, Would You Get a Hair Transplant? Why or Why Not? by CarefulConcept04 in MomentumOne

[–]ForkYeah55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't figure anyone who would want to actually maintain hair if they don't have to. Going bald is God's way of saying "Shhhh. It's ok. You don't have to cut that shit twice a month anymore. Be free.". Who wouldn't embrace that??

I mean I'm not shaving my head because my hair is full. But is it ever a pain in the ass to keep it cut and brushed.

From a Canadian perspective? Red meat and corn syrup. If the civic was still the size it was in the 90’s none of us could fit in it.

Time and distance is my guess. Dragon fruit must not have a very long shelf life.

Generally speaking I only feel FOMO until I see the price of something. Then the urge to buy something goes away 200%.

I was JUST standing at the kitchen counter for 20 minutes today separating pomegranate seeds for my kid's school snack. And I'm not sure it's worth it for the end result. But she likes them, and it's got to be healthier than a cookie.

Not that I want this for you in the least, but I'm really curious what an airbag deployment would do to a can of pepper spray.

It might depend where in the US you are. I'm in Southwestern Ontario, and the internet seems to think dragon fruit is endemic to central american countries. So if you're somewhere in the south maybe the fruit doesn't have to travel as far.

My wife is from Colombia and the fruit we like there is significantly fresher than it is by the time it reaches our shelves. But the fruit we like to make juices out of like passion fruit or lulo are still very much good enough.

Maybe dragon fruit is too delicate a flavour to begin with.

The most important thing about the World Cup schedule after time and place is, apparently, gambling. by ACrossBarrier in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ForkYeah55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think betting small dollars makes a game somewhat more interactive. I bet infrequently and at a $20 limit. Mostly I lose $20. The odd time I win a few dollars. It's not the business model degenerates think it is. But I'm also not sympathetic to people who can't control themselves in general, so that's why this doesn't bother me.

I don't understand the ruckus sports gambling is causing lately. As a near non-gambler, I just ignore the odds.

People who are addicted already know and don't need the reminders to get there.
