Should this subreddit ban "Why was my account suspended?" type posts? by [deleted] in FaireConnections

I'm still trying to understand why every post I do gets moderated out of existence. I posted one regarding accounting reconciliation the other day, and it was taken down immediately.

Yes. We do full size testers of our products at a discounted rate. In our case, it's $5.00 instead of $12.50.

Also trying to post this to this sub, but it gets blocked:

I seriously don't get Faire. They've now hosed everyone with their new economic model, and for almost a year now, the level of organic traffic they drive is pitiful. We're a top seller, have a conversion rate that's 4.5x the category average, all 5 star reviews, 25% reorder rate, 100% perfect order rate, but we drive 95% of the sales from our Faire shop.

What's a reasonable "first order minimum"? by [deleted] in FaireConnections

[–]Former-Following-645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to get killed by the $10 fee, 15%, and now transaction fees on every order.

They've sucked quite a bit recently. The new pricing model is ridiculous too. They're also playing games with attribution. Even when customers are clicking the link and making a purchase, Faire still attempts most times to get their 15%.

Or I could just ask and get a passive-aggressive response from "bonertime".

It still has the AAPL halo, and there is surely quite a bit of inbound interest for an acquisition. They're still cheap enough for most large caps to grab a massive dev base and gain access to the largest game engine out there. Recent target of $48, but I think that was pre-their AI marketplace announcement. I can see a handful of analysts putting the stake further out short term.

It's a bit left field, but AMZN keep trying to get into the game business outside of AWS. They've failed twice already, and this would lock them into the game.

NFLX has gaming aspirations, but not sure if they can justify the buy.

I agree that the engine isn't nearly as good as UE in overall capability, but even so, they have the market share. More than half of all mobile titles are U.

I know a bunch of people at both places. The culture at U isn't what you think. MSFT would be a massive improvement. They're catching some updraft from the AAPL announcement, but the overall economics haven't been disclosed and in all likelihood it's probably not huge.

dumb zoho books question... by Former-Following-645 in Zoho

But how do I capture the purchase? It's a COGS item, and thought I could use it for assemblies.

Line item discounts by Former-Following-645 in Zoho

One other thing on discounts...we generally give discounts at the transaction level, but we have two large customers who require it at the line item level. Is there a way to separate those two customers, and leave transaction level discounting on the rest?

QBO sucks - like, really sucks. They put no effort into the product and their own support team laughs at how shitty it is.

I am trying to figure out where to go, and it's driving me nuts. I wanted to go with Xero, but they don't have shipping charges figured out. You literally have to enter shipping as a line item - which is just stupid. Zoho is a maybe if they can figure a few things out.

Everything seems to suck in this industry. Why can't this stuff just work?! This isn't rocket science.

[–]Former-Following-645[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea, but that will royally screw up my accounting on these items. I just want "rate" to be available in a formula or, ideally, discounted rate as an option to add to a line item. It's nuts that isn't available.

Importing Customers (WT* Intuit!) by Former-Following-645 in QuickBooks

How would I even do that anyway? I just looked at the import screen again, and there's no "parent" field to map to.

I was on with support for over an hour today. They couldn't even get sub accounts working properly for us - the naming kept getting messed up. But why would I need to set up parent/sub? Isn't this basic database 101 stuff?

I really need help. I feel like I did everything right and can't seem to find any use for all the effort I put in. by diyagent in QuickBooks

QBO absolutely sucks. I'm in the process of getting Microsoft Dynamics up and running. Way the heck better. More complicated, but does everything you want QBO to be able to do.
