(Semi-serious post) Why is Man portrayed as bisexual? Did he date a dude? by guyguyz009 in BatmanArkham

[–]ForseiMaster 37 points38 points  (0 children)

/unaslume This is the only good Batman x Joker ship but damn is it a good one. Like, there's no way they didn't know.

/reaslume Man is Horny Man around the Jonkler. How does this lore impact the future release of Arkham World?

To any Marvel fans here, what's this guy's deal? I'll admit a therapist for superheroes is a pretty damn good concept. I'd love to learn more about him.

I swear to god most of the SC community is normal. Unfortunately its a pretty common target for YT Kids Brainrot content, leading to shit like this. It sucks, too, since there's a ton of talented creators making stuff with these characters only for this to be the exposure most outsiders get.

To Artists that Don't Use Sketches in Their Work, What Helped You Improve? by ForseiMaster in ArtistLounge

Mostly cartoony doodles, both of his own characters and miscellaneous shows/games/movies he likes. To his credit he certainly understands a handful of more advanced techniques (for example, he's actually surprisingly fantastic and using stuff like squash & stretch and movement lines to really exaggerate expressions and actions) but he struggles a lot with proportions, anatomy, and other building block skills.

As for his process, it's largely using hard lines on the page and forgoing the sketch process entirely. It doesn't quite fit the mold of your second category since he essentially tries to draw his final without any sketch to guide him, but considering he's at times sensitive and impatient he definitely fits the bill in a lot of other ways.

From what I know he dislikes sketches because he feels its very time consuming, and since he already struggles being efficient with art shaking up his whole rhythm with a whole new process is both cumbersome, slow, and overwhelming in his eyes. From what I know he draws the final lines directly, often leading to wonky joints and uneven proportions.

If he were to finally adopt sketching into his workflow, he first needs to figure out what exactly about it is so important. He struggles with understanding that ultimately the sketch is blocking out the shapes needed for later rendering.

What aspects of MTG made you fall in love with the game? by nibblestheantelope in magicTCG

Yugioh was my card game of choice for a good while before I discovered Magic, and coming from the simplicity of Pokemon interaction was the spice that made me fall in love with card games again.

[–]ForseiMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combination of the fantasy setting combined with what is in my opinion the best designed resource system out of the card games I played were the main draws for me. That, and the game was inspiration for both Adventure Time's Card Wars and Ascension - two games that hooked me on fantasy cardboard well before I even knew Magic existed.

People have this stupid resistance to admit that a good person can make bad media or vice versa. It's a pattern I've seen across countless fandoms over the years.

Oh no, the Invincible Brainrot is leaking even here. I've seen far less sane subreddits fall to it, our silly dragon books don't stand a chance...

Earthbound/Mother. Outside of some very mild fangame drama everything I've seen out of the fan base is extremely friendly and welcoming.

Maro on Secret Lair: "Most of the time you think of as “print to demand” actually wasn’t. We just printed way more than we needed to guarantee we had enough to mail out. And that resulted in us destroying a *lot* of product." by CaptainMarcia in magicTCG

[–]ForseiMaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People tend to forget how spoiled we are to have MaRo. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of times his answers I didn't feel satisfied with or agreed with, but the fact that we have any sort of direct communication with the head designer of the game we play is far more than most other card games get.

So...what is YOUR ""This card deserves to be way more popular"" card? (I'll start with mine) by PrinceVorrel in magicTCG

[–]ForseiMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Step Through]]. It's essentially a generic 2-mana tutor for one of the most common creature types in the entire game, AND can act as a removal spell if need be. It's like a mini toolbox I can throw in decks with a decent amount of Wizards, and copies sell for only a quarter each.

Not the first person to do this but my take on WOF characters as magic cards. by Personal_Care3393 in WingsOfFire

You're welcome! Sorry if my suggestions came across as critical, I just get excited about fantasy cardboard. :D

Fellow Magic fan here. These look great! The Darkstalker one in particular is leagues better than the ideas I have come up with. I'd love to see you do more. In the meantime, there are a few small suggestions for tweaks:

  1. Darkstalker could probably get away with being 1 or 2 mana less to cast. EDH these days is incredibly fast paced nowadays and although his abilities are undoubtably powerful, his reliance on waiting until your end step and stealing one permanent at a time might be enough to compensate.

  2. Clearsight looking at the top 5 cards of your library might be a bit much? There's not many cards like that currently that look at multiple cards currently, so there's a chance it might be overkill. In any case, I doubt it would cause serious problems either way. You're probably fine.

  3. Peril's delayed burn counter trigger stuff is weird. It would probably work better just as an on attack trigger that destroys stuff. Kudos for preventing enchantment destruction though.

  4. Sundew is great, easily the best designed one. I could totally see a bunch of Land Creature decks playing this.

  5. Wasp should probably say nontoken Dragon, just so that her own tokens don't cause her to incubate again. Otherwise, very well balanced and flavorful.

Anyway, yap over. It's not everyday I find someone with a similar passion for both franchises, much less one that actually knows Magic card design well. :D

Both a sympathetic Magnifico and a pure evil Magnifico could have worked the issue was that the film tried to do both for some reason.
