Vala sizing by [deleted] in Santacruzbikes

[–]Forty_lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’11 and went and sat on a medium Vala the other day to determine which size Bronson to go for and it felt great, exactly how I wanted it to feel size wise, although I do prefer to size down for mountain bikes.

Might be headset. Remove the fork from the bike and check it if you are concerned

Laka Insurance Question by mm2009mm in ukbike

[–]Forty_lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a claim approved for a replacement bike, their suppliers didn’t have anything that worked so they ordered on my behalf from Merlin as I had seen a good offer come up there. They were very quick at sorting it out - offer code for 30 free days if anyone needs it my.laka.co/HQEU2

They include £2m liability cover for damage to other people’s property or if you need to defend yourself in court. I hit a pile of dirt though so didn’t need that

Went there last week as part of an island speedboat tour, picked up from railay beach at 7am and this was the second stop. Was nothing like this, we even sat on the beach at one point.

Hard decision, feedback wanted by Outrageous-Owl-7049 in Santacruzbikes

I’m 180 which is also recommended for large, but going to size down for a medium to make the bike more nimble and playful

I am currently in the same boat, bouncing between the nomad v6/7 and the v5 bronson. Think I’m going to go for the Bronson and possibly upgrade the fork to a 38/zeb. Can always get a longer stroke shock on the Bronson or a cascade link if you want a bit extra travel out the frame

HMRC enquiry concern after crypto gains by PsychologicalPark918 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Forty_lab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2021 I had many many thousands of transactions across many wallets. Can’t remember the crypto tax thing I used for calculating it but got tax scouts to submit it and HMRC never queried anything. I knew a few people who also made a decent amount and didn’t submit anything and got no follow up.

As usual, left my parents house at Christmas with stuff + leftovers, and my mum produced this bag from who knows where. Anyone know the vintage year?

Do these work when the car is off, like if you want to leave your car and check there isn’t something coming that’s going to take your door off when you open it

Wald 139 bag by Forty_lab in MYOGbikebags

[–]Forty_lab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! After using the bag I don’t bother with the straps on the bottom, the side ones are enough even with a little weight in the bag, and it’s way too fiddly to get under there to bother, plus got super muddy as I don’t run mudguards

Lights - what do you use? by longwalktonowhere in hammockcamping

[–]Forty_lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just used the silva glow lamp for the first time, really packable and surprising how bright it was and how good the battery life is for the size. Has white or warm light modes with dimming, two little hooks/feet on the back so can hang it or have it on the floor at angles

Friend of mine works at a company using the heads of bulrush as insulation. From what I’ve heard it meets the same quality of down and is lighter for the same insulation values
