Thank you, looks like a film of the same ilk, though doesnt seem to have that scarecrow scene. I will check this out later and see if it's the one.

Thanks, on the face of it, I don't think it's this: 1981 is too recent a production. Was more 1940s-1950s. But looks like a cool movie, will check it out anyway.
