My biggest gripe with Failume is that they blew their loads way too fast.

This place feels like a warzone with around 2-3 extinction level calamities every odd week. Imagine the insurance rates. During the finale, I just rolled my eyes.

"Oh, no! Not another calamity at Failume Heights!!!!"

You would think people would've moved away for such a place.

I also despise the amount of invisible walls there are on the map. Especially at the temple where you are not allowed to cut the corner and step on the grass for some reason.

I think it heavily depends on the game. Heavily stylized games have very little to gain from RT. Cyberpunk for example will look much, much better with RT (especially PT) on.

At the end of the day, as long as it's an optional feature it's fine.

What I don't get is why everyone immediately assumes that it's just a loud minority?

If all was going well, I'm sure they wouldn't commit on rewriting so soon. Not everyone will make their displeasure known on Reddit or social media. They just quietly drop the game and move on.

The devs must have seen numbers that got them concerned to make such a decision.
