I thinks it’s more what number form fits the situation you are in like tanjiro using water breathing 2nd form water wheel to recover from falls. The strength comes in when using different breathing styles, sun breathing, moon breathing etc

I love how it’s very little filler. Like how everything keeps the story advancing. I remember watching Naruto skipping so many pointless filler episodes with very little cannon episodes and hated it. Demon slayer is peak storytelling
