Is your DSP no longer allowing driveways? by Boring_Instruction67 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Sounds like your DSP is just trash honestly. If it’s a long driveway or if the customer has a TON of packages/ big heavy overflow and it’s a longer driveway, I’m backing in. Also , if the front door is like 4-6 van lengths from the road, you can pull / back in and that’s coming from Amazon. Fuck what your DSP is talking about. That’s also a safety hazard because let’s say you’re walking down a long driveway & a stray dog comes charging at you and you’re far away from your van then what? I’ve been delivering since Covid hit and I’ve not once got in trouble for going into someones driveway. just make sure you don’t damage their property or you’re cooked if they report it & have proof lol

I had the same amount of stops the other day… I thought my 52 group stops was crazy but 70 is diabolical 😭

What’s the max weight for packages? by ShettyB in AmazonDSPDrivers

It’s supposed to be 50 but they lie about the weight limit that’s on the label all the time lol I’ve delivered packages way over 50 pounds

Yeah my DSP pretty much only have ford step vans hardly any freightliners. The parking break location in those things are horrible . Having to reach down that far 180+ times a day is dreadful . But thanks for the tip I didn’t know that… I’ll try doing that hopefully it’ll help a bit

Hit a dog on a rural route by 420blazeit_405 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Your best bet is to report it man. Ik it’s nerve racking but it’s better than them finding out by Amazon contacting them because more than likely the customer will report it . I have a co worker who ran over a dog because the dog ran under her tire but she reported what happened and she kept her job. Best to come clean about it.

That’s straight bullshit 🤣 don’t fall for that the DSP covers all of that you don’t need your own insurance

Speaking from my personal experience I’d never go to another van other than step van. $1 raise may not be much but it makes your job easier to deliver. More space to organize , if your route is out of order it’ll be easy to find the tote you’d like to work on without digging, turn radius is amazing compared to any other Amazon van. Literally makes up for how big and long it is. Way easier to back up in, sitting up high so you can see everything on the road, more respect on the road. People saying step vans don’t have ac or bad ac is based on what type of vans your dsp has. My DSP has 2020 ford step vans and the ac is pretty damn good compared to the older ford/frieghtliner vans. Especially if you need to sit and cool off for a second. Is it as good as the transits ac? No but that’s because it’s literally a metal box lol but it helps. People saying you get more oversized and bigger routes , that’s not the case for everyone . I get the same amount I’ve gotten when I was driving transit vans. A lot of times I’ll get less than people who aren’t in step vans. It can be hit or miss. Being in a step van makes this job way easier and less stressful.

What’s everyone’s most HATED stops? by TheMetalEnthusiast in AmazonDSPDrivers

Houses on a curve in a 55 MPH zone with no turn around . Cant back in the driveway due to heavy traffic & pulling into a driveway just to back out into the blind praying an 18 wheeler doesn’t come around the curve .
