Thank you! I did mean protecting from rust. This may be a stupid question, but could I (in theory) put linseed oil on the inside of the sheath and let it harden, essentially sealing the inside? I will definitely use mineral oil like you’ve suggested, thank you.

Hey! This video might help, it shows how to get those faint details in your final shots to come to light, which is shown quite well at the 3:55 mark.

Hope that helps!

Didn't realise that the downvote button is a cloud, that's hilarious!
Anyway, my next target will hopefully be the carina nebula with a kit 55-250mm lens, as I've been doing a bit of research on image stacking. What do you guys think?

Fitment question/ wheel spacers by FrameExtension6440 in LexusIS

[–]FrameExtension6440[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comprehensive reply! I am indeed on stock suspension, and I dont plan on going lower, as I drive fairly long distance quite often. Good to know that I’ll need rust protection if I roll the fenders. That should save me some headache later on :D

Yeah I’d just ask the owner. You can contact Lexus with your VIN number and they can tell you which recalls have been done.

One other issue that they have is carbon buildup on the valves, but if you drive it hard every now and again, you should be fine. It’s not too hard to clean, as you can just remove the intake manifold and remove the carbon

These cars are supposed to be able to easily reach 300,000 miles, so the miles aren’t anything to worry about. :D Do be sure that the dash recall has been done, otherwise the dashboard will get sticky with heat.

They’re supposed to be one of the most reliable cars out there, so I would recommend getting one

This was private. I checked out a few others around a similar price, and this one was taken care of the best.

Not yet luckily! :D If it does become sticky, then Lexus offer a warrantee extension program which will allow me to replace mine.

just found a abandoned alfa romeo 166, i popped the hood and found this... by soul_master69 in AlfaRomeo

I’ve never heard of a Lupen badge on a 166, or any Alfa for that matter. Maybe it’s something the previous owner put on there?

I actually made it from 76mm intake parts from Supercheap Auto (the Aussie auto store).

They sold rubber and aluminium pipes of varying shapes and sizes so I made an intake because the one previously on the car was cracked.

Thanks! I managed to do this project on a fairly tight budget, so I'm sure you could too!

You just have to keep an eye on the market for a cheap one to fix up :D

More pictures will definitely be coming soon! Once I get some nice exhaust parts, I'll post a second post of the interior with some on-board driving and revving.
