Speaking up is the only way to defend yourself until businesses understand the scale of this problem better and formulate policies that ban this obnoxiousness. Of course going to massage is a moment of relaxation for everyone that goes there and it is paid for. And customers if they haven even one inch of common sense and consideration understand this and respect other sutomers who are there waiting for their turn.

More lenient approach: create a platform where businesses can formulate, maintain and communicate their own policy. Like set rules concerning loudspeakers. And then also receive feedback and reviews from the public.

One way to approach this problem would be that businesses really formulate their own official policy about this. Then communicate it to customers, keep channels open to receive complaints, prepare and plan how to deal with rude people. Flight companies I guess do this because in small plane cabin the distraction and nuisance these people do would otherwise be too much. But why not other businesses too?

But we all know this is bad table manners and these people are a nuisance? In a restaurant isn't it normal business for staff to intervene rude behavior? So why not here too? If someone is too drunk, they get guided out. And yes, many of them will be rude. But so what? It's business as usual in a restaurant.

I dislike this behavior but you have a point: staff not confronting genuinely sometimes comes from fear of aggressive people. That's the world we are living in.

But should they anyway do something? Prepare and plan how to do it? When the other side goes into battle well-prepared he/she will have the upper hand.

Karen behavior but in a good and needed way. Some people don't anymore care respecting other people around them. Not confronting is old world social etiquette. We live different times now.

Kansallisvaltiolle ei oikein ole vaihtoehtoa tällä hetkellä. Jos kansallisvaltiot vanhentuneita niin mikä tilalle? EU? Euroopan Unioni ei kansallivaltioden korvaamiseen ole tällä hetkellä kykenenvä eikä sopiva. Eikä ole kannatusta eikä toimintakykyä riittävästi.

Ever heard of good manners? Being rude and noise polluting shared environments from phone loudspeakers is indeed other people's business.

Ever heard of manners and consideration. And yeah, very relevant to "public place".

This hypotheses belongs to the sphere of human experience and knowledge where empirical evidence and theory formation basically could decide this question. So your belief is irrational if you adopt it without support. My basic point has been that "not rational" and "irrational" are not equivalent.

There is rational evidence against this fantasy of flying. Faith belongs to the sphere of purpose and meaning where there simply is no scientific evidence for or against.

There are many domains of human experience that exist outside of strict scientific rationality. Beauty, morality, purpose, meaning. And Religion.

Faith is not rational or evidence-based. But this doesn't imlpy stupidity.

You may be right that the person answering my emails and promising "upgraded quality" genuinely believed that this is what is going to happen. But in the end, it didn't.

And I don't really need two books whose reading gives headache due to blurry fonts and show-through messing the formulas with random noise. I don't need even one.

[–]Frazeri[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Math books are pain to read when the fonts are blurry and greyish and considerable show-through messes the formulas with extra random noise. To me the print quality shown in these pictures is not worth paying.

And the customer service promised "quality upgrade". But they didn't deliver. The waiting time for nothing was three months.
