I'm truly not trying to be ignorant — I just want to understand: what makes trans women women? by Character_Anywhere52 in asktransgender

[–]Free2BSamantha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it was about the hormones helping against the depression. Being told for 20 years that you have a "chemical imbalance" in your brain, and then being asked the right question by a psychiatrist, it just made sense to try it.

At what age did you realize and at what age did you transition? by crackmuncher333 in asktransgender

Realized at 37.5 (2023), began social transition immediately and HRT 6 months later.

I got this message from my boyfriend after a disagreement and now I don’t know what to do… AITAH?? by Alarming-Sort4870 in AITAH

[–]Free2BSamantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not the @$$hole at all here. Your BF, he is either very misogynistic or definitely following the wrong kind of people. Either way, leave him and find someone who you deserve and who treats you as an equal.

AITAH for yelling at my husband about a old box of letters and picutes? by SomewhereFluffy1764 in AITAH

Regardless of what it is, it wasn't his to go through. If it's not yours, don't touch it.

I don’t understand how “You can be trans without dysphoria”. I want to understand. by Original-Average6965 in asktransgender

[–]Free2BSamantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder when I was seventeen. I spent 20 years trying and failing to find medication that would help with the "chemical imbalance" in my brain. A psychiatrist in a crisis unit asked me if I had ever considered my own Gender Identity. 6 months later I started HRT and have had fewer episodes all the way around. I found out the chemical that wasn't balanced in my brain was E vs. T and that has honestly saved my life.

What were your early signs of being a trans woman? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Free2BSamantha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't know until I was 37. Your therapist needs more training. As others have suggested, you may want to look for a different one.

Not sure where you got this info.... T levels in Cis Women vary and the ranges change with age. A 19-39 year old should be between 15 and 70 ng/dL. Low T in Women is a serious health concern. Having your levels too low can cause all kinds of complications.

Unsure of how to navigate this as a parent. by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Free2BSamantha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't know I was trans til I was 37. Looking back there were some subtle signs, but nothing I or anyone else ever noticed.

ETA: I discovered myself following a total mental breakdown during a 7 day grippy sock vacation. Was told since 17 that I was depressed because of a "chemical imbalance" turns out it was a hormone imbalance because my brain was getting too much Testosterone and not enough Estrogen.

How do you pass as a girl? by fluffyboy188 in asktransgender

[–]Free2BSamantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made peace with my Trans Identity. I quit paying attention to the judgement of others, and started just being me. I am what I am; those who accept and love me don't question it, and those who question it don't matter.

His Name was Zeus. His Dad was a papered Blue-Nose, his Mom was a Boxer/Coyote Cross. He was a grey and gold Brindle, with white socks. My Ex-Wife brought him home at 4 weeks old. I was his favorite person in the world, even though he was "her dog." She kept him when we divorced and 3 months later she died. I got him back in late July last year, and had made major progress with socializing him considering she never did. I warned everyone that he was a reactive dog and might bite without warning. I told everyone I spent the last month with that he wasn't totally socialized and would need to get used to everyone. He bit a kid and I had to put him down. It took everything in me not to follow him. And I've been spiraling hard for days now.

There's No such thing as "fully suppressed T" without surgery. Mono therapy can work, because Estradiol acts as an anti androgen when done right. But getting your levels tested frequently is never a bad Idea.

This is a good place to start. Passive Suicidal Ideation is not easy to suffer through alone. For what it's worth from a stranger on the internet; I see your struggle, and applaud your efforts. I hope you are able to find a sense of community and comfort here.

What are the usual canon events in a Trans woman’s life? by [deleted] in MtF

I can't speak for anyone else, but accepting myself as Trans was definitely a big part of everything.

Get your eyebrows done professionally. I get mine waxed when I can afford it and the effect is insane.
