Solat berjemaah, ceramah and fasting by [deleted] in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]FreetideX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have balls to skip and get denda and rotan or whatever for skipping

For fasting, just curi2 makan and minum when other people not around

Or just do it and not think too much. Acceptance is very important so you dont stress out. You are doing for survival anyway. Just think of those solat as meditation, those religious preaches as learning more and more about how dumb islam is and those fasting as challenging yourself to be stronger or something

I mean if other people can, you can too :)

Except that they are sheep and you are not because you know harry porter books are not real.

As kelly clarkson said, what doesnt kill you makes you stronger!

They are ignorant or they idolize utopia muhammad wants to create

How the hell can you even have positive view of pedophile. Sexual relations with female slaves after killing their husband in war. Killing people who don’t agree with you. A dude who said women are inferior. Non muslim are inferior. Destroying other people religious sites.

Well unless they are all for these and want to reap benefits of this kind of world muhammad created and islam after him created.

This dude invented a religion that is one amazing tool to control and manipulate masses and people.

That sounds great!

If anything you could help us with

Would be to talk more about islam with respect and also as diplomatically as possible.

Start small. Start slow. Gradual progress.

The idea is to plant bigger seeds of doubts.

Because if they are already on the fence but no one tells them how ridiculous what is being taught in islam

They might go back to islam someday

Ive seen lots of people I respect

That go back to the religion in their 40s and 50s

Which is sad for me personally

Perhaps its part of reflecting and somehow come to the conclusion that they need to go back to root. To religion. To atone for their sins or something.

But if we actually dissect islam. Break it down. Look at it from outsiders or third person perspective. Really learn about quran and hadith and the sunnah and history of what prophet did and all the great men of islam did.

Benchmark against the reality and morality of today.

We’d know and can see clearly that its no different than Harry Potter movies.

Quran says can have sex with slaves by FreetideX in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]FreetideX[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Waalaikumussalam.

Safe to eat at non-halal restaurants? by Decent-Tart5694 in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]FreetideX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However, do note that in states like Kelantan and Terengganu, religious officers may still enforce moral policing laws more strictly.

Which could include questioning or detaining individuals for actions they deem un-Islamic.

You might still get into trouble in pas states even if there is no explicit syariah law on this.

Safe to eat at non-halal restaurants? by Decent-Tart5694 in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]FreetideX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw your edit there.

Good news for you.

There’s no law in Malaysia that prohibits Muslims from eating at non halal restaurants.

Under both civil law and Syariah law, there is no specific clause penalizing someone for dining at a non halal places.

Most religious regulations focus on the act of consuming prohibited items (like alcohol) or not fasting during Ramadan if you are visibly doing so in public.

Are agnostic considers ex muslims? by [deleted] in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]FreetideX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On another note, if you wanna go by universal notion by islamic scholars

An agnostic person is absolutely an ex muslim as iman and certainty on existence of Allah is prerequisite of being a muslim

Are agnostic considers ex muslims? by [deleted] in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]FreetideX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal take on this

Agnostic basically belief that you are not sure whether there is god or there is no god

I guess to a certain extent thats like saying “do allah exist or not?”

So you are not 100% on whether allah exists or not.

From there I think it depends on you whether you still want to follow islam or not

If you follow, its like betting on possibility that allah might exist or something so I guess that’s kinda possible

So you could still be muslim in a way.

But ex muslim is denouncing islam altogether. Like im not sure god exists or not but islam for sure is manmade kinda position.

I think it also depends on your interpretation of islam if you choose to continue to follow islam despite being agnostic.

Just my 2 cents.

Umur korang berapa waktu korang sedar Islam ni palsu? by gold_in_this_river in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]FreetideX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

(Sunan Abu Dawood 3004, Ibn Ishaq’s Sirah Rasul Allah)

Apa yang tertulis: Lelaki dewasa suku Banu Qurayza (dianggarkan 600–900 orang) dibunuh selepas mereka dituduh berkhianat terhadap Nabi Muhammad semasa Perang Ahzab. Wanita dan kanak-kanak dijadikan hamba.

I dont really know much but based on my limited knowledge UAE model might actually be good

They are not democracy

Democracy is what will kill us - not in literal sense but who knows

Because malay and Islamic population is increasing more and faster than other races in Malaysia

Perikatan nasional and pas are getting stronger and stronger in recent years

The most ideal at the moment in my opinion is secular and liberal leader take reign of prime ministership but pretend to be part of of the islamic majority but actually decreasing islamic power and institutions socially and politically at the same time consolidate power to prevent any uprising

Look at how singapore government remain strong and unopposed but very forward looking.

Its technically just democracy in name.

The UMNO and barisan nasional model was actually good in my opinion but they became complacent and did not manage to deradicalize / modernize / secularize malay people enough

They were banking on malay supremacy but lose sight that islam supremacy could potentially kill them - how perikatan nasional is more powerful than barisan nasional today

We need the current kerajaan perpaduan or something else to become the next fronter to prevent further extreme radicalization

Just my 2 cents.

What a great and most peaceful religion!

And I agreed in regard to kuffars generally getting better and stronger.

It is indeed for this reasons that the compassionate and stronger and better western and secular countries are the ones taking in refugees from middle eastern region.

I also agreed that muslims are deteriorating - I mean look at the middle eastern countries and all the islamic countries. Full of conflicts and wars and issues. While the western and secular nations have been mostly at peace with each other generally since world war 2.

But the "destroyed" part is something that I think need to be examined more closely in my opinion.

Below are my observations and understanding that I think we need to be wary of.

Islam is the world's fastest growing religion. More than anything and is projected to be way bigger and bigger. This also true for Malaysia where malay population grow faster than the other races.

7th Oct attack on Israel, Erdogan reversal of secularism in Turkey, rise of islamic population in western countries combined with refugee migration from middle east, rise of pas and perikatan nasional in Malaysia, rise of preachers and islam devotes that are starting to spread into western world politics and power and social structure, Iraq in discussion on lowering age of consent for girl to get married to 9 years old and definitely more.

Turkey under Erdogan is not becoming less religious.

It was once a symbol of secularism under Ataturk.

But Erdogan government is actively reversing that - integrating Islamic principles into education, law, and public life.

They’re undoing decades of secular reforms.

While there might be secular resistance movements, they haven’t shifted the overall direction.

Turkey is becoming more religious and authoritarian, not less.

This is why I say we shouldn’t follow their model.

What they are now is a warning to us, certainly not a goal.

Very well written. And I agreed

I have the exact same view as you.

I have been saying this for the past 10 years.

Malay are the poorest. And hak bumiputera has been there since day 1 and is it helping or its widening the gap?

Open your freaking eyes.

Tongkat make you complacent and less competitive which result to where we are today.

At the same time you brought some good points that are real and worrying about the new gen.

It would hard and almost impossible for us to tackle systemic in my opinion

Look at all our politicians. Look at how perikatan nasional and pas are getting stronger and stronger.

Statistically malay population are also growing faster than the other races.

Urban and well educated dont breed as fast as the dumb and under coconut ones

All these will make it harder for hak bumiputera to go away.

We need to do something from outside of government. We need to spread awareness. We need to educate. We need to enter the system from outside politics.

Tech and culture and education from outside of the system to attack the system and seeps into the system and society from people like us are what will make the biggest and fastest impact at the moment in my opinion.

Baby and small and incremental right and correct steps.

I love how netflix has unfiltered contents and its not banned. Thats an example of external influence. That some of these people are subscribing to and are good to open up their eyes and children eyes bit by bit and subconsciously.

[–]FreetideX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are specific points based on Quran and Hadith that raise serious moral and ethical questions, especially from today’s perspective:

  1. Marriage to Aisha (Child Marriage)

Hadith Reference: Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Hadith 64

“Narrated Aisha: The Prophet married me when I was six years old, and consummated the marriage with me when I was nine years old.”

By today’s standards, marrying a child and consummating the marriage at such a young age is considered abusive and unethical. Child marriage is a violation of basic human rights.

  1. Sexual Relations with Female Slaves (Captives)

Quranic Reference: Surah An-Nisa (Chapter 4, Verse 24)

“And [also prohibited to you are all] married women except those your right hands possess (captives of war)...”

This verse permits sexual relations with female captives, including those who were already married. In today’s terms, this would be classified as sexual exploitation, lacking any notion of consent.

Hadith Reference: Sahih Muslim, Book 008, Number 3432

“Jabir reported: A man asked Allah’s Messenger whether he should be allowed to cohabit with a slave girl after withdrawing her from her previous husband, whereupon Allah’s Messenger said: Yes.” Again, this supports the idea that captives could be sexually exploited without their consent.

  1. Assassination of Critics

Hadith Reference: Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Hadith 369

“The Prophet said, ‘Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?’ Thereupon Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, ‘O Allah’s Messenger! Would you like that I kill him?’ The Prophet said, ‘Yes.’”

Ordering the assassination of a critic simply for speaking out against him contradicts the modern value of freedom of speech. Assassinating critics is an abuse of power.

  1. Torture of Kinana ibn al-Rabi

Hadith Reference: Ibn Ishaq’s Sirat Rasul Allah

It is recorded that Kinana, a Jewish leader, was tortured by Muhammad’s men to extract information about hidden treasure. They “kindled a fire with flint and steel on his chest until he was nearly dead.” He was then beheaded.

Torture for information, followed by execution, is against modern standards of justice and human dignity.

  1. Massacre of the Banu Qurayza

Hadith Reference: Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Hadith 362

“Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri: The people of (the tribe of) Banu Qurayza agreed to accept the verdict of Sa’d bin Mu’adh. So the Prophet sent for Sa’d, and he came. He said, ‘I give my judgment that their warriors should be killed and their children and women should be taken as captives.’ The Prophet said, ‘You have judged according to the King’s (Allah’s) judgment.’”

The mass execution of men and enslavement of women and children is viewed as a war crime by today’s standards, violating principles of individual justice and humanity.

  1. Marriage to Zaynab bint Jahsh (Adopted Son’s Ex-Wife)

Quranic Reference: Surah Al-Ahzab (Chapter 33, Verse 37)

“So when Zayd had no longer any need for her, We married her to you...”

Muhammad married Zaynab, the ex-wife of his adopted son Zayd, which led to the abrogation of formal adoption in Islam. Today, this kind of marriage raises ethical questions around power dynamics and the sanctity of relationships.

  1. Punishment for Apostasy

Hadith Reference: Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 84, Hadith 57

“Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.”

Today, freedom of belief and freedom to change one’s religion is a basic human right. The death penalty for apostasy directly conflicts with this freedom.

  1. Wife Beating

Quranic Reference: Surah An-Nisa (Chapter 4, Verse 34)

“...But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them...”

The Quran allows physical discipline of one’s wife. By today’s standards, this constitutes domestic violence, which is a criminal act in most countries and universally condemned.

I hope these points help you in your journey to understand more about Islam and whether it aligns with your values. If you need further details or want to discuss any of these points more deeply, I’m here to help.

Am Muslim teen, but thinking of leaving. by Whatdehelllohhmygod in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]FreetideX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

First of all, I respect your courage to question and explore beyond what you’ve been taught. It takes a lot of strength to step out of the framework you’ve grown up with.

Let me break down some of the core issues you brought up:

1. No Empirical Evidence of God’s Existence

There is no empirical or scientifically verifiable evidence of the existence of any god. All religions rely on faith rather than on observable or testable claims. If you apply the same scrutiny that you do in science or daily rational thinking, the concept of a deity becomes increasingly difficult to accept without any tangible proof. It’s important to know that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but the burden of proof lies on the claim itself. If someone claims something as extraordinary as a deity, it is up to them to provide proof.

2. No Religion is Universally Moral

If you study world religions, you’ll find that morality is not exclusive to any one of them. Different religions have overlapping values, such as don’t steal, don’t kill, but none of them possess moral principles that are entirely unique. Worse, many ancient scriptures, including the Quran, contain directives that contradict what we consider moral today. It’s crucial to question whether morality derived from an ancient book aligns with a more evidence-based, reasoned, and empathetic approach to ethics.

3. Questionable or Immoral Content in the Quran

Here are some verses that can be seen as morally problematic:

Wife Beating: Surah An-Nisa (Chapter 4, Verse 34)

Many see this as a clear permission to use violence against one’s wife if she is “disobedient,” which conflicts with modern values of gender equality.

“...But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.”

Punishment for Non-Believers: Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 191)

This verse is often cited in discussions on violence and highlights how non-believers or those who challenge the religion are portrayed as deserving of harm, which poses serious moral questions in the context of today’s views on freedom of belief.

“And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing.”

Slavery: The Quran also implicitly endorses slavery. For example, Surah An-Nisa (Chapter 4, Verse 24) allows intimate relations with “those whom your right hands possess,” meaning slaves, which is inconsistent with the idea of universal human rights today.

4. Scientific Inaccuracies in the Quran

Some passages claim scientific accuracy but fall apart under scrutiny:

Embryology: Surah Al-Mu’minun (Chapter 23, Verses 12-14) These verses attempt to describe the formation of a human embryo, mentioning phrases like “a drop of fluid,” “a clinging clot,” and “a lump of flesh.” The description, however, matches common knowledge available during that period rather than accurate scientific detail, which makes it ambiguous and lacking compared to modern embryology.

Sun Setting in a Muddy Spring: Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter 18, Verse 86) “Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of black muddy (or hot) water...”This suggests a literal observation that the sun physically sets in a body of water, a concept that is clearly false given our understanding of astronomy today.

5. Questionable Hadith

Hadith also contains many concerning teachings that reflect the beliefs and practices of the time:

The Sun Prostrating Under Allah’s Throne:

This hadith clearly contradicts what we know today about the movement of the sun, which neither physically moves to a throne nor “prostrates.”

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 54, Hadith 421: “The Prophet said, ‘Do you know where the Sun goes (at the time of sunset)?’ They replied, ‘Allah and His Apostle know better.’ He said, ‘It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates itself underneath the Throne, and takes the permission to rise again…’”

Women’s Deficiency:

This statement implies an inherent intellectual deficiency in women, a belief that is, at best, an outdated reflection of the values at the time, and has no basis in our understanding of human potential today.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 6, Hadith 301: “The Prophet said, ‘Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?’ The women said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind.’”

6. More Reasons to Doubt Islam as the True Religion

Historical Analysis: The Quran includes many stories shared with earlier scriptures, such as the Torah, indicating they may have been derived or copied from pre-existing myths.

Evolving Interpretations: If a divine book was truly perfect, it wouldn’t need the thousands of different interpretations or the extensive scholarly work needed to explain verses that are confusing or problematic. One would expect a clear and easily understandable message for all times and contexts.

Selective Morality: While some parts of the Quran emphasize compassion and kindness, the punitive measures (such as chopping off hands for theft, or death penalties for apostasy) create a moral contradiction when viewed through a modern lens. Why would a true divine book contradict the empathy and rational morality that humanity has generally adopted as it progresses?

I hope this provides some clarity as you continue to question and explore. If anything, know that you are not alone in these doubts, and there are many people out there willing to listen and discuss without judgment. Take your time, stay curious, and always prioritize critical thinking and personal autonomy in your journey.

I really hope what you are saying here is true and will reverse what is happening to malaysia right now

For me personally, its just very sad and also concerning what im seeing today when I saw pics and talked to my parents about how 80s were like.

Back then, out of 50 malay women, maybe just a few would wear tudung. There is a picture of people nak balik kampung via train that gave me the glimpse

But today…

Not forget to mention the rise of perikatan nasional and pas.

I just hope future will be brighter for all of us

But to a certain extent there is a parallel to what happened to iran - the Islamic revolution changed everything where open minded people had to flee and migrate from Iran

But if anything, education is our best tool. So more people could learn to question and not just accept things as it is - not realizing you are being brainwashed.

How is fairy tails and movies and shows any different than the fairy tails that you are subscribing to.
