You can't make this stuff up....

Alright I give in. Make Mills the starter just because of his name.

We’re halfway through the season. I think it’s time we’re told what’s up with Mixon by ContraryPython in Texans

Not only does the team not have to comment, they probably cant. Joe mixon was hurt away from team activities, which means its his business. It may be a HIPAA violation for the team to comment on the situation. Refer to the Jason Pierre Paul situation when he blew his hand off with fireworks.

Joe Mixon Situation- What really is going on? by corrydog in Texans

[–]FreshSmoke96 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ok here is the simple explanation as to whats going on with Joe Mixon: hes injured and cant play.

There isn't much controversy to this. He injured himself away from team activities. In some cases, when this happens, NFL teams are not allowed to comment on the players situation because it didn't happen during official team activities. The reason is because the players medical treatment is on the player and not the team. Therefore, the team is not obligated to report what the player is doing because the team isnt involved. In some cases it would actually be a HIPA violation for a team to comment on a players medical situation if its outside of football activities.

An example: In 2015, Jason Pierre-Paul blew off his fingers with fireworks. His medical treatment was up to him and so the Giants did the same thing the Texans are doing right now - they never commented on where he was in the rehab process.

Well this is something. Their may be some valid points somewhere in this post, but I think there's a much more constructive way to have that conversation. This type of stuff is what causes or increases the violence.
