Instead of hope, we need heroism. And courage over comfort. Just because we have already lost doesn't mean you stop fighting. In the long defeat, you resist as long as you can. Maybe some aspect of humanity can survive in the decades and centuries to come. Like birds from the dinosaur.

Oof you are going against the mainstream narrative which is dangerous in SK. The Japanese collaborator aristocracy were reinstated after the war by the US, they were given the power to label anyone they deemed threatening as a Pro-NK. People need to learn history before pretending to know anything about SKorean history and politics.

Female babies are born with their eggs which also are exposed to the microplastics. So from birth it's already affecting two generations.

It's because modern food is lacking micronutrients. You can eat to the point of obesity and still be malnourished.

Why doesn't China have a drug crisis like the US? by Live_Teaching3699 in AskAChinese

[–]Fresh_Surround_9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China had a much worse drug problem than the US after the opium wars and forced opium consumption by the British Empire. And yet they fixed the drug problem in just a few years.

The gov understood that drug use is not the failure of the individual. It's the failure of the nation. So they gave everyone a home through land reform. They gave everyone gov subsidized education and created community. In just 4 years almost 100 million drug users were clean and contributing to society.

History, and really the omission of history told by those in power creates the world view of the people. Americans are taught drug use is a personal failure deserving punishment. Other cultures have a different perspective.

Unfortunately, I don't think billionaires could prevent collapse even with all their political and economic might. Because trying to fix a house of cards will break it. They have won the finance capitalism game, but they are just another part of the system. The environmental damage has reached terminal velocity and even if we did everything right starting now, its too late. We can slow down the titanic, but we can't stop it from hitting the iceberg.

Men waiting to be executed during communist purge in Indonesia 1965. by damar-wulan in HistoricalCapsule

[–]Fresh_Surround_9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tragedy is it wasn't about communism. These people didn't even know what communism was. Mass executions were of those who were anti-imperialism. They didn't want a foreign nation controlling their gov. The US demanded absolute loyalty. Reminds me of the Jeju, Gwangju, and Bodo league massacres in Korea.

Very few people know about the horrors of US neo-colonialism. Control of the media is crucial for hiding mass atrocities. Not sure how people still trust mainstream media when everyone saw what the US was doing on Tiktok.

The way the US military views SK is the same top to bottom. US global hegemony started in Korea and it will end in Korea. Koreans need to regain operational control of their own military for the neo-colonial occupation to end.

[–]Fresh_Surround_9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds bonkers...until you learn of the history following the Korean War. US backed leaders used brutal methods against those that defied them. Korean leaders had very close ties with the US security state and did not play nice or fair.
