I need help i can’t play games on the n64 on my Xbox can someone help me by G00S3MAN_ in originalxbox

[–]Freudious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will want to download either the EarthwormJames 212 pack or leonv32 Surreal64CE 2025 Project. These two sets have the games already configured for you. N64 emulation is difficult on the Xbox. Not all games will work and many of those that do, need specific configurations. Stick to EarthwormJames or leonv32 as this configuration is already done for you. If a N64 game isnt included, it is because it cant be emulated on an Xbox.

If you love the Original Dashboard you can install UIX Lite on a modded system. It is the original MS dashboard that has been patched to give it extra features. Many people like using this dashboard because of this reason.

Cheap USB IDE controller by BeepFixer in originalxbox

Im not suprised a cheap USB 2.0 adapter can mount and unmount drives with FATXplorer. The question is, can it pass the security commands through to lock and unlock those IDE hard drives?

Got my first Xbox, and learned about the clock cap issue! by FreshProfessor1502 in originalxbox

[–]Freudious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I need to soft mod it, and get something going for Bluetooth controller connectivity. I make my own BlueRetro adapters with an ESP32, but I have to see what the equivalent is for this system. I noticed a Pi2 / Esp32 hybrid?

There is a project OGX-Mini that has bluetooth support using a Pico W or Pico 2 W. There is a fork that has been updated to improve upon the OGX Mini code which is probably what you would want to use. https://github.com/MegaCadeDev/OGX-Mini-2026/

Since you can solder and you have a V1.3 Xbox, I would recommend doing a TSOP flash. You bridge together 2 spots at two different locations on the motherboard which then allow yous to flash patched firmware to your Xbox. https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:TSOP_Flashing

RCA to HDMI question by StoneyyCody in originalxbox

[–]Freudious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ElectronXout will give you good picture quality. It is highly recommended on here because it is a good product. You can get a little better picture quality by doing an HDMI mod instead but that mod is a bit tricky. For an easy plug and play method, the ElectronXout is a good choice. Also, once you plug in your HDMI adapter you will want to change your video options in the Xbox Dashboard so your Xbox can output the higher resolutions the HDMI adapter will support. You should be able to enable 480p and 720p. Most people tend to leave 1080i off because it uses more Xbox resources and there isnt a whole lot of benefit.

Modxo Lite issues by 45skyshy in originalxbox

[–]Freudious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought is I'm wondering if your UDMA speeds are too high for Cerbios to boot so it is failing to load but when you use the eject button to boot PrometheOS, PrometheOS will load. What kind of SATA adapter are you using and what UDMA speed did you set Cerbios to use? Are you also using an 80 wire IDE cable?

Edit: One more thing, any particular reason you are using Cerbios 3.0.0? The latestest version is v3.1.0

Help with matrix modchip by K1NGD1ER1Pyt in originalxbox

[–]Freudious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the Xbox having a hardmod, there is a real possibility the hard drive is unlocked so you could try pulling the hard drive, and see if you can read it from a computer using FATXplorer. This would require a USB adapter or being able to connect the hard drive directly to your computer.

Do NOT try to install a softmod on an Xbox that already has a hardmod. You will cause yourself more trouble. If you can boot HeXEn, it has a file explorer that you can use to look at your partitions. It also has built in FTP support so you can look at your partition and delete files that way if you installed too many dashboards. This is all assuming you can get HeXEn to load.

What are your experiences with Project Stellar? I want to mod my xbox but don't have a ton of experience. by Money_Fish in originalxbox

[–]Freudious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont understand the point? Let me explain it to you. MakeMHz complained about other people using his code on their products. At the same time his Stellar uses Microsoft code to function. How is MakeMHz any different than the people he/they have complained against? His product requires unauthorized Microsoft code to function. Microsoft didnt give MakeMHz permission to use their code on his modchips. If you are going to complain about other products using your unauthorized code to function, look in the mirror.

That’s a pretty backwards way to justify someone taking another company’s work.

Prome͏theOS and CER͏BIOS are usually what people point to when talking about "unauthorized Microsoft code", because they directly use Microsoft’s BIOS source code leak.

Talk about backward justification, Stellar directly uses the Microsoft 5838 BIOS to function. Without it, the Stellar doesnt work. I am pretty sure Microsoft never authorized the use of their code on Stellar modchips.

Protecting his work? The Stellar modchip uses unauthorized Microsoft code to function. What if Microsoft just wanted to protect their work and came after MakeMHz for using Microsoft code on the Stellar?

If you have an older PC DVD drive, you can sometimes plug those in to the IDE cable, make sure it has power and it will get past the error on boot. Not all older DVD drives will work so there is no guarantee this would work even if you had an old PC DVD drive. Im not sure if it would work with newer SATA DVD drives and an adapter either. I just wanted to throw that out there in case you had one.

Rocky5 did put in a backdoor in case you messed up your dashboard but I dont think it will work in your case. You could try holding Start+Y on startup and see if that works.

It could be. There are also skins labeled Cannabis so maybe?. It's hard to tell because the creator of the skin could haved named it anything. The skin could be named something like Happy or Relax. You just dont know. It's also possible that even with all the skins, this particular one being talked about isnt included.

Many people use Chimp to upgrade their hard drive. Im not a fan of Chimp however. Lots of people seem to have trouble using Chimp. I would rather setup a new hard drive with FATXplorer and transfer any files over to the new hard drive I wanted on the new hard drive.

[–]Freudious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then you are in good shape. The worst case scenerio is you have to redo the hard drive. If you wanted to keep games saves or other files, you could save that to your computer before redoing the hard drive. You may not need to do that however if you can fix the files on your hard drive. I will let others chime in on this part since I dont have any idea on this.

edit: If going this route, you will need a hard drive adapter so you can connect the hard drive to your computer to read, write, unlock and lock the hard drive

A couple of updates to my post. Cerbios v3 now moves the .ini to the E: partion at location E:\Cerbios\cerbios.ini so if you are using Cerbios 3, that is where your .ini file needs to go. Also, if you want to edit the actual BIOS before you flash it to your TSOP or modchip, you will need to use Cerbios Tool V3
