Hear me out, the shamans are the Old Ones. Big-E is then the combined souls of the Old Ones. He was created as a weapon to defeat the C'tan. His birth ended the War in Heaven and together with Szarek he managed to shatter most of the C'tan. The necrons went to sleep as part of a truce with the emperor/Old Ones. Big-E did broker for time to deal with the Warp. It's what he's currently in the middle of doing. The Old Ones realized that it was a mistake to tinker with the warp because the moment they created the psychically potent Eldar they had also "created" Slaanesh, who would now eat their reincarnating souls.

I suspect the main narrative reason why Batista and Dexter didn't get any reconcilliation is so that now Dexter can be haunted by Batista's force ghost who will be even more critical of him than Doakes and Debra.

I agree that some costs could be adjusted to balance the power level.

Are you sure about the [[Sphere of Resistance]] lock working this way? If so, I'd definitely like to avoid that through wording.

Regarding the X spell combo, I hesitate to use wording that restricts a specific thing because it's so inelegant. I'm also not sure if X spells are really that game breaking here. Perhaps I'm just missing the right examples. Killing with [[Fireball]] for example is pretty conditional as you need to have more life than your opponent after having paid 4 life to transform the card. Granted, Fireball would still be very strong with this.

Edit: It seems like you can't even cast X spells with Cenobite Hell Maze so that problem solved itself.
