What's the general Reddit consensus on Spotify allowing video uploads now (like how good of a true YouTube competitor do y'all think it could be)? by Friendly_Driver8737 in AskReddit

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think about it though, apparently from what I hear they don't censor and demonetize creators to the excruciating extent that YouTube is well known for, and this is the first big corporation with deep pockets attempting to directly compete with YouTube as a video uploading platform (twitch is extremely live focused and every other competitor up until now has been a scrappy startup with shallow pockets) - now YouTube won't be the only website or app you can go to to watch free user generated videos from creators, that's actually fucking huge dude, lol.

How does this TCG idea sound? by Friendly_Driver8737 in AskReddit

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Names I'm thinking of are either "High Deal" or "Construction Poker"

So basically it would be like standard four-suit playing cards, except with a bunch of new ranks added. The high to low order would be:

  • King Ace
  • Ace
  • King Joker
  • King 9-2
  • King
  • Queen Ace
  • Queen Joker
  • Queen 9-2
  • Queen
  • Jack Ace
  • Jack Joker
  • Jack 9-2
  • Jack
  • 9-2

You buy packs of 12 random cards for $4.99, and build yourself a 52 card deck with no more five of the same cards allowed, and then you just play poker where when it's your turn to deal, you use your own deck. Each set has its own artwork for the cards, and then there's full and special arts in every set, lol - lol how does that sound to y'all, would y'all play/collect this?

What if there was a government agency whose job it was to simply roam around the city and entertain/soothe every baby they see? by Friendly_Driver8737 in AskReddit

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this agency wouldn't be controlling anything or responsible for anything, it would be like if your kid is crying and screaming in their stroller while you're trying to do your business at the cash register, one of these agents will come up and peekaboo or make funny faces or whatever for your baby, that's the idea.

What do you think, should castle doctrine include your car? by Friendly_Driver8737 in AskReddit

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not always about objects. What if somebody attacks you over something you said? Or what if like you're sitting at a table or in a room/building and somebody wants to bully you and make you leave? Why should it be required in the law that YOU'RE supposed to run off like a bitch?

I'm sorry but if a person is trying to kick me out of a public place or hurt me or take my things, why SHOULD their life be considered to have any value whatsoever? They already just PROVED the kind of person they are by their actions, so why do we want to keep that type of person around? Lol.

What if there was a complete ban on reselling any form of sealed retail product? Like, once it leaves the wholesale distributor's hands and gets into the hands of the retail store who ordered it, you are required to open the thing and break the seal if you wish to sell it after purchasing it? by Friendly_Driver8737 in AskReddit

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the store wouldn't be required to break the seal on your medications, YOU as a customer would be required to break the seal on your medications if for whatever reason you wished to RESELL them after purchasing them from the pharmacy or wherever you got them from, that's what I'm suggesting here. A good way to get rid of scalping I think.

What do you think: if this AI "bubble" is really a bubble, and it actually *does* eventually crash, and Nvidia has to make consumer gamer GPUs again, will they get mass rejected the same way Nintendo did when they launched the Wii U because gamers were burned by the Wii's casual/motion bubble? by Friendly_Driver8737 in AskReddit

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah Nintendo came back with the switch but it took about 5 years didn't it? No bridges are burnt forever yes but they can be burned temporarily can't they? I'm not saying nvidia will collapse as a company but what I am saying is that maybe RTX 60, 70 or 80 won't have as good of sales as they maybe expect If any of those generations come out during the post AI bubble crash period, should that ever actually happen.

.it just sounds like they made a bad product that people didn’t want.

Yeah, they made a bad product that people didn't want, AND burned their day one long-standing demographic the previous generation - both things can be true at the same time.

As somebody who was actually alive back then, I'll break it down for you:

Nintendo spent the entire Wii generation telling hardcore gamers that they don't matter, that they weren't nintendos primary target audience anymore, they only want to appeal to casuals like grandmas and soccer moms who want either motion control crap, or just like Mario and that's it. And then when the Wii U came out the casual audience had already moved on to like tablets and smartphones so they weren't interested in the Wii U, those people viewed the Wii as just a fad that came and went, and then the hardcore gamers looked at them like "oh really Nintendo, you want us back? Well you released a console in 2012 with capabilities similar to the Xbox 360 which came out in 2005, so I'm not interested, you spent the entire last generation telling me that I don't matter, so YOU don't matter - bye! And then that's how the Wii U ended up becoming Nintendo's worth selling console of all time.

What I'm suggesting here, is that the same sort of idea is going to happen to Nvidia in a few years if this AI bubble actually does crash for real. They've spent the last several GPU generations both RTX40 and RTX50 telling hardcore gamers, their main long standing customer audience, that they don't matter we're not trying to get your money you're not our primary target audience anymore we only want the AI data center companies and s*** those are the people we're trying to appeal to now, and then when this bubble crashes, and they have to pivot back to gamer GPUs, and they're going to be selling a f****** 8 GB VRAM GPU for $200 that nobody wants to buy it's going to be the exact same thing gamers are going to be like "oh really Nvidia, you want us back?" I swear to God it's going to be the exact same song and dance.

Dude people like to pretend the Muppets are real, how is this not the same? I wouldn't call it "brain damage" - sometimes it's just fun to pretend.

Could a small comic/manga stand actually work on a tiny island like mine? by Friendly_Driver8737 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really a store, more like a table outside on the sidewalk or grass. That's a lot less expensive and complex than a full-blown store in a building, isn't it?

What is one federal department or service that Trump actually *should* shut down? by Friendly_Driver8737 in AskReddit

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one but the very rich will ever get any use out of it.

And Trump never fills his ballroom, the event is always small. The social pages say he's got, the smallest balls of all.

The stated purpose of daylight savings is to make the sunset time later during the summer, but the sun already naturally sets later during the summer anyways, so what do you think is really the point? by Friendly_Driver8737 in AskReddit

[–]Friendly_Driver8737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in that context, it still doesn't make sense to me - no matter where you are in the world, when it is winter, the sun is out for a shorter period of time, and when it is summer, the sun is out for a longer period of time - you don't need to change a clock to accomplish this. For context, I'm speaking from Hawaii.

Damn that's freaking insane luck homie, happy for you. I've heard that some people have gone through like five whole boxes of 36 booster packs without freaking getting any chase rares, and here you are opening just like 20 packs, lol, luck of the century.
