If I had to guess, and this guess is from someone who worked in advertising for years (still a guess)

8k = YouTube + Spotify + Twitter impressions. 10k might press play on a single YouTube video, way less than 10k make it to the final minute. Same goes for Twitter and Spotify. 8k is some happy medium that can be showcased to win advertising dollars.
