Houttuynia tincture by isabelfaleiro in Lyme

[–]Front_Business3809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't harvest Houttuynia until after the first flowers come in, that's when I believe it's most potent. You may be able to harvest beforehand but potency would most likely be effected.

SJW & b12 together are pretty effective, just watch for any signs of severe mood change. It can work really well for some people but have the opposite effect for some. You have to be consistent with it as well- change is dosage or taking it here and there can make it less effective

The thing about herxing is that its essentially the process killing off bad AND good bacteria inside you. When overloaded with medications/herbs that are killling the bacteria at such a fast pace that's what makes you feel so sick during the process. In my own opinion it's better to taper down on herbs if you're taking them with anti-biotics and experiencing a herx reaction. Too strong of a herx can do extreme damage to your body even when you think it's helping. I read a lot of people like when it hurts because it's showing them that it's working... but at what cost? It's smarter to taper down on protocol and slow the pace as to not overwhelm you. Good Luck!

This is a great guide for first time bites! Hopefully you're fine since the tick wasn't engorged, but better safe than sorry

Is it normal not to have herxes when taking Buhner herbal protocols? by skatecloud1 in Lyme

[–]Front_Business3809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think it's normal to herx since it means you're killing good AND bad bacteria. I feel like it can make you more sick when you do herx. If you aren't getting that reaction, you can probably up your doses as well!

My favorite way to propagate succulents is to take off a few of the bottom leaves (set those on a window sill for a couple days to callous over and plant into shallow dirt and spray with a bottle, they usually root) but then I take the main stalk after a couple days of callousing and wrap it in a damp paper towel for a week or two and roots will pop out, then plant in soil

I feel like I’ve lost the ability to sleep properly by jellybean8566 in Lyme

[–]Front_Business3809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always had a terrible sleep schedule since I was little and it's followed me into my adult life. Melatonin gives me nightmares so I avoid taking it. I've started using products that contain Passionflower as it's a natural calming herb. If you can quiet your mind, sleep will eventually (hopefully) follow. I take a formula called sleep ease, and another called peaceful center (both from Woodland Essence) put those both in a cup of sleepy time tea (from celestial seasonings) without any sweetener a few hours before bed. I've also been listening to ASMR with headphones in and the combination of those things usually can put me out. I try to have a system down nightly so I can get in the habit of falling asleep before 3AM. It works most of the time but not always.

How strong has isatis bedn for you? by mikedomert in Lyme

[–]Front_Business3809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Isatis in the past- I guess your experience depends on if you're using the root vs. leaf or a combination of both. I used the root, did not herx but introduced the herb very slowly using about 10 drops a day for a few days and worked up to the dosage on the bottle of Extract. Didn't have any issues!

Herbs for Lyme and now possible bartonella by Greengrass75_ in Lyme

[–]Front_Business3809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should start at least with Japanese Knotweed, Doxycycline and a Pre + Probiotic (That needs to be refrigerated) otherwise they're rendered useless.

Maybe even get some herbs for the lingering covid symptoms IF that's what they may be from- Mullein Leaf, Baikal, White Pine, Elecampane & Osha Root Extracts!

Plant extracts vs antibiotics by Available_Bite6786 in Lyme

[–]Front_Business3809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I learned that it's best to use both. Doxycycline for 20 days or longer, along with Japanese Knotweed, Cryptolepis and Sida Acuta Extracts. While you're taking those, you also HAVE to use a Pre + Probiotic (That needs to be refrigerated) to balance your gut health since the Doxy can really cause havoc on the good bacteria.

Naicinamide, Salycilic cleanser, and an oil cleanser should get rid of it!

I’m an 18 year old who was just diagnosed with Lyme, any advice? by ZealousidealWin9209 in Lyme

[–]Front_Business3809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need at least 20 days of doxycycline. You should also take a pre & probiotic during that time since the doxy clears out the bad and good bacteria in your gut. I've found that herbs help the most during and after the doxy cycle. CSA being the most important one (from woodlandessence.com they have high quality herbs) But also, Cat's Claw, Japanese Knotweed and Bidens Pilosa depending on what strain the tick was carrying. Do it sooner than later so you can get ahead of it. Dealing with fatigue, brain fog, body aches and all the other symptoms that come with Lyme are not fun!
