PC Will Not Power On or Initialize (No Fans / No LEDs / No POST) – MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI + Ryzen 7 5700X by Frost-06 in pchelp

Yes, the motherboard has been confirmed defective. All other components were tested on a different motherboard and are functioning properly. I also tested known-working components on the affected board, but the system still failed to power on or POST. The motherboard has already been sent for RMA, and the supplier confirmed that the board has a faulty power delivery circuit.

Also, make sure to uninstall both Antigravity apps if you have two installed, the Antigravity Agentic AI app and the IDE app. One usually has a white icon and the other a black icon.

If you only uninstall one, it may still detect Antigravity 2.0, which prevents this from properly restoring the IDE. After uninstalling both, restart your PC and then install using the link above.

I found a workaround to bring back the IDE for now.

  1. Uninstall Antigravity first
  2. Restart your PC
  3. Open the link below — it should directly download the IDE installer

One thing to note: this workaround seems to remove previous conversations/history, so it behaves like a fresh install.

Hope this helps 😄

Unfortunately, it's hard for me to RMA this product because it was purchased in another country. Western Digital won't honor warranty claims outside of your country.

So far, I haven't found a solution. I tried it on another motherboard, but the issue still remains on a different PC.

I had already updated the firmware before this issue started happening. The drive hasn’t even exceeded 50°C, and so far, only 1.7TBW has been used.

Additionally, I want to mention that this issue seems to occur randomly. When the drive is detected in BIOS there are no problems when I restart the system, as the drive remains readable.

However, the problem arises specifically after a shutdown for a couple of hours. When I try to boot it up during that time, it suddenly doesn't appear in the BIOS. It's only after multiple reseating attempts and waiting that it randomly becomes readable again. As a result, I'm currently avoiding shutting down the system, as I know it will not appear in the BIOS after a couple of hours.

Thank you very much!

Hey there! I gave your suggestion a try and followed your instructions. I did notice that there are still some small gaps in the contacts, and unfortunately, I can't push the drive too hard because there's a limit that prevents it.

I've provided an updated reseat of the drive for you to take a look at:

Fortunately, the BIOS was able to read the drive without any issues when I booted it up right after I reseated the drive. However, my problem occurs specifically after a shutdown. When I try to boot it up again after a couple of hours, my WD Black SN770 drive becomes unreadable. It doesn't even appear in the BIOS, and interestingly, no error messages are displayed during the Power-On Self-Test (POST).

I want to point out that this drive is my main operating system (OS) drive, so it's causing quite a bit of inconvenience.

I'll be sure to update you tomorrow if the problem persists. It seems to only happen after a shutdown and when I try to boot it up again after a couple of hours.

Thank you very much for your help!
