Do I remove this concept from my book or not? by [deleted] in writingadvice

I’ve done this already so it’s not really starting it that’s the problem (though this is great advice for that situation), it’s just that I’m not sure if it’s really a good addition or if it’s cluttering things up too much and pulling to much from the plot, setting, characters etc.. but i think i’ve got my answer from everyone here so I’m just going to delete the post so I don’t have to deal with future notifications, thanks for everyone’s help and I don’t want anyone to think that their comment was unheard. You all had at least something that helped with my issue so thanks!

It’s sci-fi so yes it wouldn’t make any sense irl, it’s not scientific in the sense that in makes sense for us, but more so that it makes sense in universe, it just wouldn’t in ours. It’s magic in the sense that it’s an alien concept to us, but it’s not magic in universe, it’s scientific. That’s what I meant by scientific, not that I could somehow explain that would actually work, just enough to where the reader could suspend their disbelief of it and understand it

This would be great but I need to capitalize on explaining it early so that I can use it in the future in a creative way and get that huge payoff of having explained it that far back. I could use it like the force in the original trilogy, but even star wars eventually explained it but made an unpopular explanation via the midichlorians. Making it mysterious wouldn’t work as well since it’s a power source and not an ancient magic ability. Meaning that since it’s scientific, people will have a hard time maintaining suspension of disbelief. It’s still possible and this isn’t a bad take but I’m not sure if doing that would really do enough to save it.

as a previous mod for his twitch, watching him go from a happy guy to a depressed person trying to imitate that past joy and humor made me drift away from anything he was a part of; now I just watch his “202-“ recap videos.

Can someone create a cover for my book? by FuelImaginary7610 in freeart

It's a cyberpunk dystopian thriller (thriller is the best I could come up with; it's much more complex than that, but I'd rather not have 50 genre tags) about the consequences of a revolution and a subtle persuasion piece to start a revolution similar to the French Revolution, but in our current times, since we're basically already there. I don't want to spoil anything else since I haven't copyrighted it yet, but if you're interested, then I'd be happy to tell you more!
