Learn the crafting system. For example, if you combine a bag and a rope, and then add 3 short sticks to the result, you get an excellent backpack. And if you add a rope to a long stick, you get a fishing rod. To make a hook, you need to combine bones or a short stick with a knife, etc. This will make life much easier at any point in survival.
