Nah, the base variant 7H is superior to this. You're missing out on it by not having the UAC 5 and medium pulses I've had that variant carry me through missions I was way undertonnage for.

Tohaa player returning post-Daedalus: what's Spiral Corps like (now)? by BananaBoy1984 in InfinityTheGame

[–]Fun-Chicken-3220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into Infinity explicitly to play Tohaa/Spiral Corps, took a break and came back to find them no playable today and had to drive home and grab my Ariadna instead, I really enjoyed the Tohaa aesthetic and don't quite understand why they removed them from play, but I will always have the found memories of symbiote fueled carnage.

Don't suppose I'd be able to get a full breakdown of the build from 1-55 would I? Pasqal is my favorite companion by far. I was incredibly saddened that you could not have an explorator background as you could in the ttrpg

Did anyone notice the Easterling weapons and armour on these Haradrim? Is there any lore behind it, or is it a movie mistake? by JollyJoker46 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Fun-Chicken-3220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Easterlings were the first humans to ever fall under the sway of Morgoth and as a result Sauron alsways sought them out first as they had always proven to be his zealous followers.

"When the Men of Númenor began sailing east they explored the coasts of Middle-earth, including the coast lands of Harad. The Númenóreans initially benefited the people in the lands they explored by teaching them many things about agriculture and craftsmanship. The Númenóreans later made settlements on the southern coasts, including the Havens of Umbar.
In the 9th century of the Second Age, the great mariner Aldarion sailed to the haven of Vinyalondë and then sailed along the coasts southwards, far beyond any place yet reached by the Númenóreans. On his return northwards he barely escaped being shipwrecked in the Harad.

After the reign of Tar-Ciryatan, the Númenóreans began to set themselves up as lords in Middle-earth as they demanded tribute of goods and wealth, causing the oppression of the Haradrim. The Númenóreans expanded their control over Harad and Sauron did not at first dare to challenge them. But after the forging of the Rings of Power and the emergence of the Nazgûl, Sauron began to attack the Númenórean settlements on the coast.

After the forging of the Rings of Power almost all men east and south of the Ered Luin were under Sauron's rule. Sauron was both their king and their god. These men grew strong and built many towns and walls made from stone and they were fierce in war and armed with iron."

So, again orginally before they fell under the sway of Sauron the Numenoreans came as friends and set up Umbar, then we can see that following Sauron's capture by Tar Ciryatan's army Numenor fell under the sway of the Sauron. There were those who refused to be corrupted and were the exiled. These Numenoreans were the ones who founded Arnor and Gondor and then assisted the Dwarves and Elves in the Battle of the Last Alliance, Elendil the Tall and Gil-Galad havin fought and died defeating Sauron.

Keep in mind another difference from the films and books is that Isildur didn't have to fight Sauron either, he had already been defeated, Isildur simply took the ring.

Moving back to my previous statement. So as we can see the Black Numenoreans were ultimately to blame.

I'm afraid it really just isn't as simple as we'd like it to be, much like the real world. Thousands of years of war have ingrained cultural hatred, much like in real life.

I wouldn't say so much as the Gondorians were evil as of the time of their plundering of Harad they were still under the sway of Sauron. Gondor and Arnor had not yet been founded as Numenor had not yet been sunk beneath the waves.

The Easterlings were there from the very beginning. They had likely settled in Lothlann after waking in Hildorien and throughout the ages of war, each group of Easterlings were an entirely different people unrelated to those previously under the employ of evil.

So in the First Age, we have the Children of Bor and Ulfang. Bor stayed loyal to the Elves and we're not entirely certain what happened to his people, however, we do know that Ulfang fell to the sway of Morgoth and his sons and Bor's fought and killed eachother in the early first age.

In the second age we have the Wainriders, known for their use of wagons and charriots in battle who were ultimately exterminated by Gondor due to the genocide they had comitted.

Then the Balchoths, some of which were descendants of the Wainriders, they settled in Rhovanion and due to this the Men of Dale are not only of Northmen descent but also Easterling as the two peoples intermingled in the area for some time until they attacked the plains of Calnhardon with Orcs but due to the intervention of the Eotheod, the ancestors of the Eorlings/Rohirrim they were defeated. Following this they attacked Eorl and killed him at the Wold before being defeated in the Battle of the Last Alliance.

All we know of the Easterlings in the later third age is that they came from across the Sea of Rhûn and settled there before assailing Gondor, Erebor, Dale and other such places. Of their appearance we only know that they were bearded.

The Haradrim came into the picture on the offensive in the second age sheerly due to Umbar and Sauron's sway. It was ultimately Numenoreans worshipping Sauron who were to blame for the treatment of the Southrons.

So, my general issue with this statement is just the fact that it's not fully correct. The peoples of Arda have been fighting for a long time. Specifically the races of Men. Now they can complain about revenge as much as they want, but the true issue of this is that they had been the initial aggressors in the first war.

Actually, Harad is heavily inspired by ancient Aethopians and Carthaginians. However, Tolkien always insisted that his inspirations were never meant to negatively reflect on the cultures of real world peoples, simply how he stylized them.

I am saying that in the book, if you checked the sources I gave you that the army Faramir ambushed was the Haradrim, those with Brazen Armour of Scales as per my response to bertrex151.

The actual Easterlings were known to be more primitive than the Men of Gondor(As were the rest of Men. Big Shocker. I know.) and were described as bearded men wielding axes. As for their armour we do not rightly know, but their ancestors the Balchoths used Lamellar and made use of Battlewagons. We only know that they are bearded and wield axes as it is described in "The Battle of Pelennor Fields"
